sigur ros was one of my fav live bands to see for sure. totally swept me away and they've got some long-ass songs. idk as a fan of post-rock and ambient shit, I don't mind lengthy performances with added intros/outros. I think i actually prefer it. Look Mexico and As Tall as Lions used to do that. Rhye did that at the most recent show I been to, adding almost 5-10 minutes to certain songs with jazzy interludes. Sometimes it's sick to watch a band thrive in their own created musical zone, if that makes sense.

I don't know if I can definitively say what the best band I've seen is, but all these bands have a shot at taking that title by playing at Lincoln Hall. I honestly can't believe they couldn't do a bigger room, but not complaining.

Def top 3 Pianos song for me.
Maybe song of the year so far.

 

The first 4 songs are incredibly potent

 

One of the best bands I've ever seen live is Caspian. Seeing them with 10+ on stage for the end of Sycamore was a surreal experience I'll never forget

about halfway through and its starting to lose me but the opener is still really cool. this just makes me want to listen to dealer, tbh

 

deafheaven is the best live band, but only at a hardcore festival where a quarter of the crowd is slowly nodding along to violet and the other three quarters is taking a bathroom/merch break or standing there bewildered.

The clear with gold and black splash sounds so so so much better than the black and gold.

 

where can I get that?

 

The parts I wasn't sold on have certainly grown on me, but something is really holding Forever Sound back for me. I don't care for it much at all.

i got my copy of the black with gold splatter today as i was out of town for a while. the gold isn't as bright as i expected, but it is pretty. also had a little handwritten note from the store: "hi jason, enjoy the new pianos LP. check out tiny moving parts too." love when they do stuff like that.
