This album has been hitting me harder every day. Manila is reaching all the right notes for me lately.

 

Yeah the tone in this record is so good

 

Ordered the indie store variant from my local shop. I trust you people so I'm probably gonna wait for the vinyl for my first full listen.

Who wants to read a review that's like "this song sounds like this, this one sounds like this," etc.? So boring. Dive deeper

 

I find with PBTT their previous work definitely informs my experience on listening to new releases from them. Kyle Durfey has let us in to some of the most personal and tragic parts of his life and it really makes me want to root for him and the band. I'm not entirely sure about the subject matter and references to the lyrics of WFL yet but I find myself with a lump in my throat regardless because of where it's coming from.
I think it's the combination of following Kyle's journey mixed with a band that write such at times crushing and then beautiful music that make them so special to me. Apologies for rambling just a few thoughts!

 

Oh boy this is good so far. Definitely get the Anberlin vibe from the opening track.

 

i don't hear the anberlin comparisons at all, and that band used to be one of my favorites

 

Hmm, I didn't listen to them that much and only vaguely remember those vocals, maybe thats why??

 

How is everyone listening to this record already??

 

It’s a beautiful day out and this is a nice companion record for walking around campus. Def hearing the goodness comparisons

 

I'm glad that this record works during nice weather. I never reached for Keep You unless it was a dreary or cold day.

 

I've never ever understood people only being able to listen to albums in certain weather / seasons. Seems so weird to me.

Yeah I don't hear that at all.
