It sounds more akin to the Old Pride drums than Keep You/TLLA I think.

 

For those of you at all surprised the drumming on here is busy, have y'all ever listened to TLLA? Dude is relentless on that record. David has always done a great job at creating interesting rhythms that fill space, especially lately as I'd argue he's playing ~less~

 

I'll openly admit I've listened to the first two albums way less than Keep You, and I'll probably end up listening to this one more than those as well

 

TLLA is incredible and Old Pride is very good too. Do not overlook those records

 

The end of Love on Repeat is orgasmic.

 

I know they are good, I think Im going to need to be in the mood for hardcore to give them the appreciation they deserve though. if that makes sense

 

Tbh I haven’t listened to Keep You in headphones in a very long time so maybe that’s why they feel louder to me, but I always felt like the drum production on that album was somewhat lackluster. Particularly after seeing them live and hearing the songs in that setting. I should def revisit it.

Ah okay, fair enough. Tbh, the band’s pre-Keep you material (aside from Hiding) never really clicked with me, so I’m not super familiar with it. Probably time to give it another chance though.

 

what are the lyrics after "love on repeat" ha I can't really make them out. But i loveee that part so much

 

The drums on this album sound better than on Keep You, which didn't sound bad, but the toms are more clear in this one than on Keep You

 

I agree, and they are a lot more dynamic. When they need to be amped up they really push the energy to the next level.

 

Yeah that's one of the main points of improvement from their last albums to this, the drummer seems to have developed even more range now. So good.

I think you're very close if not spot-on!

 

It's my favourite part on this whole record.

 

I'm not quite there yet, the only thing I know is that I much prefer the first half of the record (including Forever Sound) over the latter half. I almost want to say there's a song or two on here I am not super keen on.

 

So pleased with this. The last 3 tracks in particular are so strong. Having a one year old son saves the emotional peak of the album until the last track for me in a really nice way.

Yeah I thought you had mentioned that before, wasn't 100% sure though. Most important thing is the drummer has always been awesome

 

Forever Sound to the end is an incredible set of songs

 

Totally agree. The back half of this record is incredible.

 

I did not like anything on first listen as much as Fake Lighting but this is cool, will spend some more time with it

 

I prefer the second half of the album. Not huge on Charisma or Bitter Red.

Or my vinyl turns up but I'm in the UK so expect that to turn up in Spring of 2019 or something.
