If Touche is whiny lyrically then I don't know what PBTT is.

 

I haven't listened to anything since Parting the Seas so I was unaware of this. Didn't mean to sound insensitive.

 

i figured as such, the new stuff has very much changed lyrically just as la dispute has stopped being so whiny as well

 

Also I don't think I have a more inconsistent/spotty opinion about any other group of bands than the ones mentioned here. I used to love Defeater, but I kinda got bored of them. I was never big into TA, but some of their early songs I enjoyed. La Dispute seems pretty polarizing and I get that, but I've only heard 2? I think of their albums. I had never listened to a note of PBTT until Keep You. And I actually haven't heard anything by Make Do And Mend. I think the whole wave thing just passed me by.

 

I really think for TA, LD, and PBTT, the newest albums are really the best starting points now. Whichever one you like best, go further down the hole. MDAM's best is End Measured Mile, and Defeater's is probably Empty Days and Sleepless Nights. EDIT: you said you were familiar with Defeater, missed that initially.

 

Never listened to TA. Might have to change that for my commute home today

are people in here not liking this song Keep You fans or nah? I don't think it's like a huge shift (besides thematically)

 

Is Survived By is also a great record and one that's not quite as heavy emotionally, Stage Four is often too hard for me to go back to even if it is brilliant

 

I wasn't a big Keep You fan, but the more I listen to this song, the more I like it.

And how anyone can say ROTH is better than Wildlife blows my mind.

king park is such a bad song. whole album is pretty melodramatic. rooms changes his delivery and lyrical style a lot and i love it

Make Do and Mend kinda suck, TA is good and their newest record is great, PBTT might break out with this one, and Defeater has put out the same record 4 times...but I like listening to it at the gym. lol
