I just added the post-script to my post right before you posted this. I think Defeater had the highest starting point of all 5 and they were similarly outclassed by the improving bands

Why can't they have that EU/Uk variant in the North America store. I would totally get it. Don't feel like a paying a fortune for shipping to Canada so I will hold off but yeah I don't get it...

We reach for the longest shadow

Yeah the trajectory of wave bands is interesting. Like you said, I think they started out

La Dispute > Touche Amore (pretty close here) > Defeater > Make Do and Mend > PBTT

Looking at where they are now (album output, popularity, etc) I'd say it's

Touche Amore > La Dispute > PBTT >>>>> Defeater >>>>>> MDAM

PBTT might move up that list if this album is as good or even close to Keep You. It's really a shame that the newest MDAM was so lackluster, and that Defeater refuse to switch anything up.

If the gold vinyl looks anything like the Manchester Orchestra gold vinyl, then no thank you . . .

  7. I think they are a much better hand without the screaming even tho TLLA is very near and dear to my heart

La Dispute was absolutely terrible at the beginning.

It took them a while to find the balance between sappy and poetic in their lyrics. They were way way way too overwrought at the beginning of their career. I think they are now the best of the bunch though

The only "wave" band that ended up releasing a bad album as time went on was MDAM. That last album was so boring/bad

Otherwise they all just got better and better

RIP to the 2010 days were we all argued on AP over what a wave band was

Song is definitely a grower. Thought it was a little too repetitive the first few times I heard it. It's good but not great imo still really looking forward to this so don't @ me

i'd love a gold variant but who knows if i'll be able to attend that tour...unless they sell it really early on the mwY tour...
also shipping is crazy expensive if you add a shirt...

are we still lucky to be here? Prestigious

Bodies of Water and End Measured Mile are both still awesome releases to me...again, my opinion of the wave bands differs from most of the people's in this thread. Especially with La Dispute it seems. I won't even get started on them for the sake of not causing discord.

I didn't even know MDAM released a new album in 2015 that's how much their record before that turned me off.

Pianos is the only "wave" band I really like. La Dispute grew off me a lot and I never cared for the others at all.

PBTT is probably my favorite of the wave but i adore TA and LD as well. Wildlife, ROTH, ISB, Stage Four, TLLA, and KY are among the best things to ever come from our scene and I want nothing but success for all 3 of those bands.
