Tommy had a share of the lead or was one back for most of the day, but he just seemed off. Didn't have any shots that could get the crowd behind him. Spieth was Spieth. OMG. He is one of the most fascinating golfers out there.

Taylor Moore wins it. He is one of the few PGA Tours players out there that I couldn't pick out of a lineup. So I decided to do some research to find out more and didn't like what I found. Besides a voyeurism charge in college, he has one of the weirdest websites out there. His blogs read like they were created by ChatGPT.

  7. What the fuck lol dude that’s so strange.

Fascinating is the perfect word to define Spieth. Also, I feel bad for Schenk. The look of defeat after the lie against the tree said it all. I’m glad he lefty chipped it out to at least give himself a shot. But you could feel the defeat.

  8. I bought a Ping G425 Max driver recently so I went out and played a round by myself today since the weather was nice. Holy crap, that thing is great. I used to love the Callaway I had but it broke last year, so I bought a Titleist TS2. I used that all year last year and I hated it. No forgiveness at all and it was just really tough for me to swing. With all due respect to Titleist because I'm sure somewhere there are really good golfers who love it, haha, but not me. I was crushing the ball today with the Ping though and the driver is my absolute weakness, so the confidence boost was crazy.

Man, I am really going to miss this course and event. For the latter, I hope next year is an anomaly and match play is back into the rotation in 2025. We could get a Rory vs. Scottie final in the afternoon, though it wouldn't be too bad of a consolation prize to see Cam Young play spoiler and try to get his first win.

And of course, the guy I do not mention in my previous post--Sam Burns--wins the tournament. He was on fire. Scottie spent way too much time on a putt that could have sealed the match. We got Rory vs. Scottie in a meaningless consolation match which was bit of a bummer but overall this was a tremendous week.

  11. They need to bring it back in 2025. It’s just such a fun way to see the best guys go at it. I’m happy for Burns too because he was so bad recently and then this week he turned it on.

Itll definitely be back, a lot of guys over the years have pretty openly stated match play is their favorite event on the calendar. would be cool to see it at a new course every year.

Love to see it. Heading into Masters week with a win and looking as good as ever.

  14. It’s here. So excited. I have bets on Rory, Scottie, and Rahm obviously… and then I sprinkled some money on Spieth, Day, and Tony. I’m also going to do some top 10 bets.

    Is it Thursday yet?

    Masters predictions...
-One of the following three wins: Scheffler, Rory or Cam Smith
-Min Woo Lee finishes in the Top 10
-Both Tiger and Justin Thomas miss the cut
-Phil shoots an 80 in one of the first two rounds

A LIV player has to win a major this season if LIV wants to keep up any kind of rivalry. I'm looking forward to seeing what a "supposedly healthy" Koepka can do this week, I actually have him winning The Open as part of a 4-way major's parlay.

Honestly think its gonna be Rory Spieth or Scottie this weekend. I don't think Tiger makes the cut either.

Rahm or Rory is my bet.

  19. My predictions this week:

One of the Scottie/Rory/Rahm big three wins. I just feel like they’re all dialed in and it’s a clear level above everyone else. With the way Scottie scrambles and his ability to chip from anywhere, he would be my bet but it’s also so hard to repeat so I just feel like you can’t go wrong putting money on any of them.

Jason Day and Tony Finau lead the pack early but can’t hold it. This is more me wishing good things for two of my favorite golfers but just given how well they’ve played and their style, this feels very much like one of them will come out and lead after the first day. What happens from that point on, who knows.

Spieth top 10s but has the lead on either Friday or Saturday at some point. If he can figure out how to putt consistently this week, he’s been playing too well to completely take a dive. I just don’t feel confident in the way he closes and I feel like we’ll be watching him go in the water Sunday on 12 as he begs his ball not to.

Corey Conners finishes top 10, Tom Hoge and Seamus Power finish top 20. Conners coming off his win where he figured out something with the putter and has finished T6, T8, and T10 the last three Masters. The course rewards guys who hit irons like he does. I feel the same way about Hoge and Power but I don’t think they have the experience so I think they play well enough to top 20 and make some noise.

Tiger makes the cut. I say this only because he needs one more made cut to tie Player and Couples for the record of 23 consecutive made cuts. We know how competitive Tiger is and I think he knows what it means to his legacy to have his name alongside those two. I think he’s going to do whatever it takes to make the cut even if he puts up duds on the weekend. Even if it’s not a good bet, I’ll never doubt Tiger.

Koepka and Cam Smith show up as contenders, all of the other LIV guys show up poor. I think Cam’s skill is undeniable and I don’t care how much golf he’s played or how poorly he’s played in LIV, you have to think he shows up ready. I think this is personal for Koepka. His quote about missing playing against Rory and Scottie and the top guys was telling. Of all the LIV guys, I think he regrets it the most. I think he’s motivated enough to show up and shoot low and put himself in contention, not for LIV but for himself.
