You ever think about how if one day we proved that god didn’t exist, or Christianity fell out and a new religion became the most popular one- people from the future would look at us like we were fucking insane? So much of everything revolves around Christianity. Our pledge with “one nation under god”, our fucking money with “in god we trust”, so many movies have religious themes even if they aren’t outright religious movies. I just wonder how it will all look one day.

i was raised pretty catholic my whole life, went to church most sundays, went to catholic school, yadda yadda, and i even joined my parish's youth ministry and spent years helping there and semi-leading the damn thing, but over the last few years have fallen completely out of it, and am not in any sort looking to go back. its all bullshit.

I was on a Catholic softball league which is the greatest of ironies.

And yeah I did all the Catholic stuff too, minus Catholic school thankfully but going to mass always made me feel so fucking uncomfortable even when I was very little and I could never figure out why. I think I get it now.

I've never been particularly religious. My father would drag us all to church Sundays when we were kids, but never pushed anything really. As the years went on it was more like every holiday and then just Christmas eve mass. My sister, no surprise, is vehemently anti-religion. I fall between atheism and agnostic--I can't disprove God's existence or whatever and I don't have much of an issue with people practicing, just never use it as a pre-text to treat people like shit and acknowledge the grossness of most of the church's actions.

I’m not sure where I stand on my religion. Basically, I don’t believe anything happens after we die- but I want there to be. I don’t want to cease existing. But it reeeeally doesn’t feel like anything will happen. Some days I think that with all the laws of nature, the food chain, etc that everything had to have been designed but other than that nothing really makes me feel like this is all real.
It’s easy to think some sweet old lady might be existing in some capacity, whether or not that is “Heaven”. But it’s a lot harder for me to picture some caveman still existing in some form today. I guess if I HAD to believe in a religion, it would be that a god created everything. But I also don’t think they would be anything like described. If you’re a good person you’d go to heaven, being gay, having premarital sex, abortion, none of that matters. And I think if there really was a god, a lot of the shitty religious people that were assholes on earth would probably go to hell. But I still don’t think any of that is real. I don’t even necessarily want to die and have an afterlife. I just want to live forever, in my early 20s.
