I tried a calzone on Thursday and it was disgusting!!!!!!!!!!! Wtf Ben. Nobody said anything about ricotta.

 

In college we had a nearby calzone place with 30 different varieties of fillings. When you're drunk at midnight, calzones are like heaven. Waking up the next day feeling bloated with a hangover... pretty shitty.

I don't think ricotta has ever been on a calzone I've had, not that that sounds particularly bad or anything.

 

Calzones are the best. Pepperoni, chicken, jalapenos, onion, pomodero sauce and mozzarella for the win.

 

Once had a calzone that was probably 90% ricotta and so I understand your pain, but don't let that rule out calzones for you forever. They aren't meant to be like that.

Ricotta is inoffensive, but a calzone needs mozzarella

 

Calzones are rad, but they become less rad when ricotta is thrown in.

ricotta is good but when the ricotta:mozz ratio is off I can see it being shit. Gotta load it up with sauce and peppers and sausage or whatever else

This was definitely the problem. Not enough pepperoni and too much ricotta.

I don't dislike ricotta, they just have no place in my low cal calzone zone.

 

Ricotta is awesome. Especially as a topping on NY-style white pizza.

 

ricotta always tasted like nothing to me.
