They brought them on stage at their own concert... are you serious right now? Read literally like, 3 posts up, they're very aware of each other, for years.

Yes, I'm serious. Just because they brought him on stage doesn't mean they know his life story.

I'll stop talking about this though, my bad everyone

From what I see here, she has been aware of his music for many years. This was the first time they met in person. It is still possible Hayley did not know of what he did. She may just pay attention to his music. I’m not saying she didn’t know. It makes it clear he was a big fan of hers. If she didn’t know of it, it makes sense they may have talked about collaborating in the past and the timing just worked out here.

Until it’s clear the band knew of it, I’m hard pressed to be that up in arms about it. It was bad and a mistake regardless. But given the band’s track record, I’m inclined to give them the benefit of doubt. If they come out actively supporting him or downplay it if questioned on it, my stance would begin to change.

I mean, you'd think the band would at least be making a statement about it by now. Whether they knew ahead of time about anything is kind of beside the point right now. How long does it usually take to go from "people commenting on it on social media" to "official statement from the band"? Just seems it would be in their best interest to stay on top of this.

I see your point. But maybe the thought is to ignore it until it goes away. Not defending that position, but it could be.

Well that would be incredibly hypocritical and problematic of them if that's the case. Let's hope that it's not.

In the end, it’s like a worse version of Blink collaborating with xxxtentacion, but at least Blink has never claimed to take any stance on basically anything and the guy can no longer hurt people. They never addressed it and we moved on. It sucks, it’s disappointing and if Paramore never says anything then that’s pretty sad.

It sucks. If they knew about all the allegations and still brought Uzi out, that sucks even more. Beyond acknowledging that I’m not really sure what there is to discuss.

I mean I think whether the fans in here know of lil uzi isn't relevant. You don't have to know about them. All you have to know is that someone responded and posted that they are an abuser. That gave enough information. From there you can look those allegations up, and then try to inform the band if u think they may not know. If they posted about uzi on their official social accounts and ur active on socials then respond to it and let them know if they don't already, and hope they respond, or even go through and try to boost the comments that already are doing that. I'm not saying we need to vilify the band but just throwing up ur hands and being like "idk this person so they prob don't know what uzi did either" and then when someone calls that out responding with "but idek who that is" is kinda odd. But this is coming from someone who skimmed the last few pages so if I'm off base then lemme know

  17. THANK YOU. Love this band and album, but this is the most reasonable response. I find it so strange seeing posts that are like "I don't expect every artist to Google who they associate with," like no, I don't always expect listeners to do that, but I DO expect anyone with a huge platform in the year of our lord 2023 to Google this shit. Artists absolutely have a responsibility to vet who they bring out on stage or collaborate with, and if they don't, they shouldn't be surprised when fans speak out about it.

We reach for the longest shadow

Listening to this for the first time since the first couple weeks it was out. One thing that seems to have come over from the Hayley Williams solo albums are the layering and flourishes that you can only hear on good speakers or concentrated headphone listens. They are everywhere on Hayley's albums, especially PFA, and it feels like they're more prominent here than on any other Paramore release.

So she responded about kicking the fans out but not about giving an abuser a platform on her stage? Weird.

They were great last night. Realized I really don't care for Big Man Little Dignity and Crave. Would have rather had a few more older songs. Loved it though, crowd was really into it. Floor was pretty packed.
