Legitimately the exact reason I want to get into this game. I can't express how bananas it drives me when players only care about K/D and the obj. goes to crap because of it.

Thanks to you both for the pointers @MattNCheeze! I'll let everyone know once I'm on, I don't have a lot of friends who play in real life so it'd be nice to party up.

Yeah don't be afraid to die and to try new heroes. There's really no reason not to experiment and throw caution to the wind since there's no ranked right now.

Starting to really love Zarya. Really great support/tank style that I enjoy a lot.

Why is Symmetra considered support? That little shield she gives is hardly worth it sometimes. Her turrets and teleporter are incredible and feel like great defenses more so than supporting tools.

 

For all intents and purposes I consider her to be a defense character. I try to refrain from choosing her right away unless we already have another support character just so people won't think "oh, we have a support character already," because you definitely need an actual healer in addition to her.

 

Yeah I feel like the other 3 bring much more to the table support wise. She's a great hero but she feels like she's in the wrong group, much like the pyro being an offense class was off in TF2. Honestly Mercy is my favorite of the supports but I see a lot of love for Lucio. He's definitely more aggressive than the others.

 

how do you even say stuff like "defend the point" or "we need a healer"? i see that being used a lot but i don't see a command for it

 

I prefer Mercy on defense and Lucio on offense, and then Lucio by far on King of the Hill maps (speed boost for getting back to the point and then AoE healing for the whole team on the point are both crucial).

 

Definitely. I prefer attack defense more so than KOTH tbh. That stupid overtime timer always gets my team and we lose by 1%

I tried everything said on reddit but it didn't seem to work. I dunno though.

 

I've said it before but I wish the Overwatch text chat system was as deep as smite text chat. It's easy for PC to type everything but consoles don't have that luxury.

 

I think at least on PC you can put key bindings for those.

 

That's why I'm glad about that recent SMITE update on console which added a bunch more. It helps a LOT.

 

I've even remember all the quick keys to get certain messages. It's just so dang good.

 

It does translate to that, if you play with a party or at least someone else with no support and say it, it'll come up saying "I need a healer". Man, I wish Molten Core got some sort of nerf. It's still so annoying taking out a dwarf with like 600 health and his turret with 500.

@Rob Hughes I thought you appreciate some of her gameplay as Zarya. It's pretty incredible.

 

Overwatch.TXT was pretty bad today except for this one:

 

Had a quintuple kill with D. Va earlier today and POTG was the other team's Reaper with a triple kill. This is why I use the "salt" spray.

 

So I think I'm going to start maining zarya. i fucking love that chick. such a great mix of support and tank with a shocking amount of offense when timing her barriers correctly.

 

She's definitely on the "like" side of tanks for me. I love having one on the team.

 

yeah a good zarya can decimate on both offense and defense, and do pretty well on KOTH as far as holding the point is concerned. That ult is also some of the best utility in the game, setting up my teamates ults by delivering the entire enemy team in a nice big pretty ball is so satisfying.

I went ahead and purchased her Siberian skin because it looks so good.

 

Had a pretty good run tonight with Junkrat.
