I mean this sucks but isn't this what the Grammys has pretty much done for decades? Also the Emmys does their technicals untelevised on a completely different night, and they're not even considered the same tier of Emmy.

I don't want them to do this, but they're not the first awards show to do it like that.

the answer to drawing more attention to the show is adding categories for movies people actually care about. first time director, stunt coordinating, multiple performances, etc. make the tent bigger. it isn’t negging people inside the tent and the small fanbase you’re still clutching too

i cannot fathom thinking best editing is less important than best original song or three lifetime achievement awards

 

Remember last year when they didn't show clips for Screenplay but they had time for Glenn Close to shake her ass
