After watching this film at least 20 times it is my favorite of his catalog. Still have to read the book.

 

A lot of people aren't ready to hear some of Kael's really left field opinions.

I feel like if he would retire as a director, he could at least write screenplays but he seems like too much of a control freak to let other people adapt his work. I’d be happy if he instead becomes a novelist.

I think he’s dead serious about this being his last movie. But he will still make tv, plays, novels, podcasts, etc The Movie Critic will not be the last we hear of Quentin.

After what Oliver Stone did to his screenplay for Natural Born Killers, I doubt it.

Yea, that’s what I meant. He sold his early scripts as he was getting into the business but he’s way too much of a power player to hand over his work to others.

 

This reminded me that he long ago teased a sequel where Copperhead’s adult daughter seeks revenge, but he has a million ideas floating in his head that he tends to say might see the light of day.

True Romance worked for me. It's my second favorite film of all-time.
