right, and it’s how i think of them as well, but they weren’t released that way, so i can see the counter argument to judging them based off how they were released

I think the commode story could maybe be cut from this

So could the car scene where they throw out some more N-words

How was the Polanski/Tate stuff handled and how much is Emile Hirsch around? You can PM me if people don’t want specific spoiler type stuff here.

Also I can’t remember my first film either. Logic tells me it had to be Pulp Fiction because I think it was the only VHS of his my family owned when I was a kid, but I almost have a memory of seeking Reservoir Dogs out even earlier on my own.

  9. So I would say avoid these spoilers for anyone who maybe isn’t basing their decision of seeing it on any of this, especially the middle portion. Ultimately there’s nothing too surprising though (in the spoilers, not the film itself)

Polanski is only in it a little in the first bit of the first half and barely has any lines. DiCaprio’s character does talk about him and how he’s hot shit in Hollywood now after Rosemary’s Baby, but that’s pretty much it.

Tate has the most moving scene in the film when she’s in the movie theater. Otherwise there’s not a TON to the character but it’s a fun and good performance by Robbie. The Manson stuff is Tarantino’d to be something very different.

Hirsch isn't in it much, but does have one or two scenes of note towards the end

Great, thanks so much. That makes me feel a little bit better about the content, I just still have to decide about paying to support him.

  12. I was debating the same but my fave theater just happened to be having a free advanced screening so I said fuck it

A free screening would make the decision a lot easier for sure!

Pulp Fiction might've been my fourth Tarantino film. Kill Bill and Reservoir Dogs were the first two. I don't remember if I saw Pulp Fiction or Basterds first after that because the DVDs were both Christmas presents.

This movie has gotten so much better every time I rewatch it. I doubt he'll ever make anything better and that's fine.

Something not really talked about much, and few directors have the clout that Tarantino has to get this kind of deal.

God fucking dammit I loved this. When Rick came out with the flame flower as the girl was screaming in the pool I fucking died laughing. Alone in the theater laughing my god damn ass off. Amazing payoff.
