What's the deal with Zed and Maynard? Do they regularly kidnap people? Are they serial killers? Is the Gimp someone they caught or is he there by his own free will?

They separated Kill Bill into two movies though lol

I know this is obvious to say but I really wish Tarantino didn't have to keep saying the N-word in his scene. It'd be very funny without it

some feel it’s cheap/cheating to combine it into one film when it wasn’t released that way, and when you do it invariably will improve its place on the list. fine with it either way

    It feels incredibly forced.

I get it's like, the shock factor or whatever, but yeah the scene would work much, much better without it

I don't think I've ever really considered how dumb of a character Vincent Vega is. He's a doofus. Vic is much cooler and the movie better be Vic handling Vincent's dumbass problems

Pulp Fiction has always been around the middle of his films for me, and that scene is a huge reason why it never climbs any higher.

It is a weak scene in an otherwise pretty perfect movie. The pacing of this is pretty masterful, I can't think of many scenes that could be taken out for a relatively long film. I would probably put it 2nd on my list.

I think, like most people, there was a "before Tarantino" or at least a "before Pulp Fiction" and after in terms of how I viewed films. I think that PF is still powerful enough to evoke that kind of feeling from people, I know a lot of nerds that I teach who continue to bow down to it while other films fade away, and I think it's worthy of the praise it got. I would have liked to have been older at the time of release to see the craze as it played out. I vividly remember my cousins having the VHS and poster and album in his room. Would listen to the CD before I saw the movie and would skip over the dialogue just in case it had cursing in it.

I can't remember the first time I watched Pulp Fiction. I think it was with my parents, or at least my dad. It was definitely after I found the VHS of Reservoir Dogs in my cousin's room after watching I Love the 90s and forcing my parents to let me watch it. I think I went out and bought the soundtrack, and the first Dane Cook album, the next day. That was a summer of film exploration for me. I remember grabbing Fight Club and Office Space and probably Donnie Darko that same summer.

Kill Bill definitely has the weakest opening so far

I'm multitasking and don't feel that the KB films need my full attention

I don't remember if I saw Pulp Fiction or Reservoir Dogs. I want to say that my mother introduced me to Pulp Fiction and then Reservoir Dogs came later.

Pulp Fiction is a highly impressive film, but it was never "mine" because of all the praise it had by the time I saw it. That isn't exactly good criticism, but it makes the film feel farther away than the others.

Kill Bill 1 is fun but I don’t think it has the magic of other QT films. The huge fight scene is classic, though

My parents let me watch Pulp when it came out on video with them when I was 12. My mom had already seen it (at the time she was an RN working nights in a group home so she had a lot of time to kill while residents slept so she rented movies). They were totally fine with me watching violence and swearing. But I had to leave the room during the pawn shop basement scene. Wasn’t until I was in high school I rented it to watch a 2nd time. On watching that scene, I was like probably a good idea I didn’t see it then but it wasn’t that graphic. Also watched The Shawshank Redemption around the same time as a kid with them and that’s where I learned the concept of oral sex.

Kill Bill 1 is the first Tarantino film I saw in theaters. My mother hated it so we didn't go see the second one. I didn't see that one until I bought a bootleg from my manager at Burger King.

QT considers them one film and they were intended to be released as one film so I don’t think it’s cheating at all. OUATIH is also only “The 9th Film From Quentin Tarantino” if Kill Bill is considered one movie.

  25. Don't have much to say yet other than definitely a better initial reaction to his last couple. It’s maybe probably very good. Pitt is a treat.

I’d be happy to answer questions, I know people have had reservations about this for a couple different reasons that maybe I could help them get a firmer handle on
