Saw this. Wasn't good, wasn't bad haha. It was silly, but honestly the part I thought worked best was when the movie took a minute to breath while the main parents age into the nighttime

Ugh, wasn’t it Alzheimer’s? Hence it getting worse with age?

the scientists at the end literally say “the schizophrenic patient compromised the blood clot patient’s results”

A lot of the diseases get worse with age. The project is about those specific diseases they went for, but things like the husband's blindness or the wife's deafness are just part of the overall aging process.

I’d say it was like 2% chance it was a beach that ages you fast, 98% chance you missed out on public sex/group sex/orgy of some sort

Turns out the cost of going to movies high is poor recall of finer details I guess

Finally watched this. It was pretty odd. I think I liked it though.

What the hell was up with Thomasin McKenzie’s voice/accent tho?

This fucking ruled! Very simple but the shot of the babies bones turning to dust and spilling out of the blanket was one of the grimmest things I’ve seen in recent memory.

I feel like the schizophrenia line was something from an earlier draft that didn’t get changed because it was played like Dementia which makes way more sense.

    M. Night clearly needs a co-writer to help him with dialogue (although I thought the children running around the resort felt very accurate), but yeah... this rules

The reason Shyamalan can make such unique films is that he not only writes and directs them but also funds his own movies. Adding more people would disrupt from his vision.

I was enjoying the first half of this but it kinda pooped out. Some really messed up stuff. Well shot.

Real dumb, I liked it. Kinda wish the main twist wasn’t the literal title of the movie. Would’ve benefitted going in blind but the trailer and the title/poster don’t help lol

They should have called it Young. Just imagine how much bigger the twist would land

People that celebrate Halloween in full force as adults are the best. It’s such a great way to “screen” for cool adults by asking “do you dress up for Halloween?”

  25. This was so fucking bad lol. The writing and dialogue were so baffling, it felt like the actors were genuinely doing their best with what they had without chance of success. So many of the beats were off. Watching 20-somethings (Alex Wolff specifically) pretend to be children (and the pregnancy stuff as a whole) was...weird and uncomfortable, but in an unnecessary way as opposed to an effective way. Cinematography felt solid at first but got much worse as the film went on.

Ultimately, I just felt like it touched on a handful of themes extremely briefly without efficiently exploring any of them. If you liked this, more power to you -- I enjoy Shyamalan and have been on board with his mid-late-career brand of schlock, especially since The Visit -- but I was honestly almost shocked at how inept this felt. I laughed a lot, though, so points for not being boring theater experience at least.
