oh that's much higher than what i'd get it. it's not his worse and there's a few things to like about it. but it's pretty far from that score for me.

Coincidentally, I was in the Bahamas last month and a couple that we met at the pool invited us to go with them on a private beach retreat but I wanted to take a nap and gamble. I might have really dodged a bullet.

People give iPads to 2 year olds now, so they can "learn" about a lot more than that

Awful movie. Some of the cinematography decisions were wild. Stop swinging the fucking camera around.

    great concept, woeful execution

Spending ten minutes talking about a movie but refusing to get into the plot is a tremendous waste of time. It isn't a review if you don't engage with the whole thing.

It’s funny that in that vid they rag on the kid for going around asking people “what’s your name & what’s your profession” as lazy writing when IRL that’s all people really care about when you meet em at parties once you’re an adult.

This movie ruled. By far one of my favorite M Night. films.

The part where Chrystal is in the cave and follows the brother and sister was utterly terrifying. I actually kind of chuckled once you saw her bones break and heal in place. Also they really killed it with the actors of different ages portraying each character. Great casting work. How bout that rapper name - Mid-Sized Sedan haah

I could have sworn Michael Smiley played the part of the Resort Manager, but I would have been wrong.

it’s more unintentionally funny bc of how stupid it is than it is scary

When her bones are all contorted like some sort of spider, it is pretty striking. Most horror directors would do anything to come up with an image like that.

I thought the tumor was going to grow into something but I think it was just a Prometheus flashback.

The part with the child birth and subsequent death was the part that got me the most. Fucking brutal.

I looked away towards the end of the cave crawl since I was effectively creeped out after the first snap. I tend to avoid most gruesome stuff these days because my mind has enough of that to go off of already.

maybe it’s people that really like horror/murder pods/death stuff that aren’t really liking this since they’re desensitized

Loved this. Something about having a pure Shayamalan movie that felt refreshing right now

it’s difficult for me to think of too many screenwriters who have done a more tone deaf job of depicting mental illness across multiple films

And in ways that were completely avoidable. There’s no reason for him to name actual, real mental illnesses in his screenplays when just having them be made up fantasy illnesses would have sufficed. It’s not like he’s making realistic films here.
