So now I love every song except Sweet Talker and New Religion, those are still growing on me, as is the second half of CS & A. Wake Me Up, I'm Dreaming is still fucking earth-shattering and Send the Rain is just perfect

This is a really great album. Vinyl has been spinning all day, worked from home today and it's been rad.

    what a waste of wood

Really wondering what the set list is gonna look like. I'm excited to see the full band because despite seeing him 4 times, I never have.. but.. if there isn't a solo Noah portion I'll be disappointed.

I think we still got at least one solo song last year on the full band tour.

In an interview I watched he mentioned about having recorded something like 24 songs for this album. Hope there's a deluxe version for this release in the not to distant future.

Interesting that he recorded that many. It makes “Bad Actors” making the cut all the more worse. Otherwise a lovely album.

Skip it every time. That and Sweet Talker. Just not a fan of those songs, which sucks because then I feel like I'm missing such a big part of the record. I might come around to bad actors one day, but I don't think I will on Sweet Talker.

i’ve been meaning to tell you

I kinda like Bad Actors now. Still haven’t come around on New Religion.

I really came around on New Religion. I LIKE Sweet Talker but I'm not in love with it.

Heavy Metals might be my favorite song from anyone this year though..

After spending the week with this, I think this is his most consistently good and diverse record to date. Fear & Loathing is the only song I'd really omit. It's very bland and the lyrics are especially boring. Maybe Bad Actors as well. Heavy Metals, Sweet Talker, Send The Rain, and After All are the shining moments for me.

Yeah I did a quick take through the thread and I see most people love Fear & Loathing. But I think it's mostly just I don't do the whole singer-songwriter feel as much. Like, I enjoy Ledges but it's my least favorite sound of his which Fear & Loathing feels like an extension of, until the ending of course (which also felt unearned to me).
