I know everyone is listening to Taylor but this is better, go listen to it.

Saving this one for good headphones at home. Very excited to hear it, I've been playing the singles a ton lately.

  3. Samesies. I don't mind listening to Taylor as background music at work, but for this Noah album, I need to sit in a quiet room with headphones and fully take it in. The singles are killer, and this is the first time his music has really clicked with me, so I'm realllllly looking forward to diving into this thing.

I'm a strange Noah fan in that I haven't fully come around to CTG/Ledges as full albums, but I LOVE White Noise hahah seems like this is gonna be the perfect mix though.

This is me too haha. I like Ledges and CTG, just honestly haven't listened to them enough. Whereas I couldn't stop listening to White Noise after it came out.

Anyway I'm pumped for this. I listened to Robin Williams once and held off listening to everything else, so I'm excited to finally experience this thing tomorrow.

I loved Ledges and a lot of his stuff prior to that as well, but CTG never clicked for me, apart from a few songs. It felt to quiet, subdued, and dare I say..boring? I've played the shit out of the Young in the City EPs, White Noise and the B-sides after that, and now I'm super ready to hear where he's gone with this one.

I've heard a few people describe Carry the Ghost as boring over the years, and it is always baffling to me. Lyrically, where that album goes, how cohesive it is, the questions it asks, how deep Noah delves into himself and his crisis of faith...very few albums from the past 10 years are as moving or interesting to me.

Agree wholeheartedly. The personal and lyrical depth of CTG is what kept me coming back. It’s right up there with Ledges for me, but White Noise never clicked

I think this could be his masterpiece.

I know you've always seen CTG as his masterpiece, and it's actually because of your continued praise of CTG that I've tried several times to really connect with it. I think one of the reasons might be because English isn't my first language. Therefore the music becomes way more important than the lyrics. I guess I should sit down and read the lyrics next time!

Ledges is actually my favorite of his, but I do think CTG is his peak as a songwriter. Musically, I suppose it is a bit less dynamic than most of his stuff.

  16. If you preorder Noah records, they usually deliver a day or two ahead of the street date. This has been true for the last few, in my experience.

Really enjoying the album, like Crystal Creek a lot.

  20. I'm still digesting, but I love the variation on this record. "Older" is set apart from the rest of his catalog in a really neat way. I think he must have had a lot of fun crafting this album.

Just finished my first full pass-through. Not really sure how I feel on this thing as a whole, which is a little frustrating since every record prior to this one always had moments that really slammed me on first listen, and this one didn't. I think it's going to be a real grower, and I'll need to give it several more listens. Gonna be digesting this for a while. Still a potential AOTY for me though, because damnit is this a creative record for Noah.

Bought a ticket to the Brooklyn show by myself. Didn't do the VIP sound check + M&G thing because although I'd like to hear him play some more music, I'm not really interested in being at a meet and greet by myself. (Also I don't particularly need to meet him.) Is anyone else going to that show?

Are y'all talking about the show itself or the meet and greet?
