Man, I thought some of you were exaggerating but this is cartoonishly bad.

  3. Have these guys done any press? I’d like to read an interview about the background of this.

Barely. I thought they posted about a track by track breakdown somewhere but I didn't even care to read it after having listened to this joke of an album a few times. They're on Red Scare now, presumably because nobody but Brenden Kelly wanted to put out this hot garbage.

Definitely in the minority here, but I'm really enjoying this album. It's silly, but there's a point to it beyond the silliness. A lot of it feels like Direct Hit! to me. The direction doesn't really surprise me considering Adult Braces.

There's definitely some misses (like that acoustic song that kinda just drags the fuck on forever). I'd probably enjoy it more if it were released under a different name... But it's catchy and fun.

I would have preferred another Canyoneer, but this is still in my lane.

I feel like Adult Braces was much closer to something like Tycoon and Canyoneer than this

Closer, sure. But it still signaled a change in vocals and definitely leaned toward a sillier direction with the lyrics and an overall poppier vibe. Not saying the new record isn't a huge jump...

But, for me, it would have been much more jarring without Adult Braces.

i would have been so stoked on this album when i was 11 years old

please never let aging white punk musicians write another album like this ever again. this is the most unfunny shit i think i have ever heard coming from this genre and this is coming from someone who tormented myself in my younger years thinking bowling for soup was a good band. this is like an album made by your punk friends who have the most unfunny podcast imaginable deciding to try to transfer that into an album

this is just so embarrassing to listen to. if i hear anyone in my life listening to this and enjoying it, i am initiating no contact. gotta cut dead weight from my life

  17. These guys still rip live regardless of my feelings on the new album. Just pure joy seeing Jono play drums again.

I don’t think this album is good by any stretch, but it’s not the absolute dumpster fire this thread is making it out to be.

I think the silly sound effects are the worst part, alongside whatever the fuck that bus stop song is and the final songs rap… but there’s some decent songs in the first half.

Canyoneer and Tycoon are banger records that I can still go listen to, I’m not gonna begrudge a band for seemingly having a lot of fun making music.

  19. They do really seem to be having fun and said on stage that this is what the band is now.

I've never been a diehard of this band, so I have different ears on this than many of you, but I found it to be overall fine enough with a few spots of bad. There's still plenty of songs on here that are enjoyable, despite them maybe not matching up to the band's previous material
