I don’t really hold much weight to what Courtney says (in general) but even if it’s true in some aspect.. Helena was perfect in Fight Club anyways.

It may happen anyway someday. It’s funny because I was listening to old Nirvana interviews/production notes and wondered why it hadn’t happened. Guess they tried. I don’t think it’s necessary, but the fact that done 70’s and 80’s artist lately for awards hopes, I’m sure someone would want to play Kurt for award consideration.

Band has a cool history. Just don’t know if a biopic would be Required

It sounds like they need Courtney’s approval since she handles Kurt’s estate right? If so, I can see a producer eventually finding someone who Courtney approves of and then all they need to do is just back up a dump truck full of cash for her lol

A Kurt Cobain biopic by Todd Philips would be absolutely awful. I’m sure a potential good film with Kurt at the center exists, but the director of Hangover & Joker absolutely does not have it.

It’s not perfect but Gus Van Sant’s Last Days does exist too.

I remember watching it when it was in indie theatres. The song in it (original but Kurt style inspired was cool), but a movie about the nuance and motivation of Nirvana, the taking music by storm and tragic downfall are really what’s captivating. Listening to the people around him, and music producers who worked with the band, Kurt was different for that time and quite a unique character. It’s the ultimate outsider becomes popular story, but it didn’t end well for everyone

I don’t know which director will ultimately do the story, but approach is key. Like I said, I could see someone doing a biopic on another grunge artist era person as well who had a tragic demise before something on Kurt ever gets made
