I'm getting it for Wii U and I'll need it day one anyway so I wouldn't have time to import. I'll probably get the American version if I get the Switch though at some point.

 

I will literally repurchase Fire Emblem Fates just to have those beautiful anime cut scenes rendered in HD. If it has one cart local multiplayer via Joycons, even more so. I'd imagine it will also be a "complete" version with all the content on one cart, which will certainly ease the burn for some of the folks that weren't able to get the 3DS special edition.

 

Also gimme Fire Emblem x Hyrule plz.

 

I hate you for introducing this idea. I bought the big ass version with all 3 games in one cart. The Fates cutscenes were meh for me compared to Awakening, but I'll definitely buy it again if they put enough new stuff.

 

And I hate you for managing to snag the 3DS special edition

 

Also, I've been trying to make sense of relegating voice chat to a smartphone app, and I think it may be to ensure that anyone using voice chat is at least mature/responsible enough to have a cellphone or high end mobile device. Nintendo is so afraid of children having anything other than a clean online experience. Totally ridiculous, especially for a console with parental controls, but it's the only thing I can think of.

 

Haha you got me there. The nearest videogame store nearest to where I work, for some reason always has stock of limited edition items. When Pokemon was released people I know irl had to wait roughly an hour and a half to get their copies.

I literally just walked in and bought one in less than 5 minutes. Without reservations. Same thing happened with NES Classic, and FE: Fates collector's. I even had an extra copy reserved and just gave the reservation to my friend (seriously fuck scalpers I'm not gonna be one of those people).

Well worst case scenario, but if in the future you guys can't get a limited edition Ninty item for some reason, let me know maybe we have extra copies here. We can figure out shipping later and I can always sell them at SRP anyway if it does not go through.

Nevermind, Xenoblade 2 a true sequel is confirmed for Switch. Now I have no regrets at all about preordering.

 

It's the next Xenoblade game, announced for the Switch for 2017, though I would not count on that

 

This FR Direct will also be about the mobile game I assume

 

My guess is the mobile game, warriors, Fates complete edition on the Switch, and maybe a tease for a new game

 

I doubt that it will release this year. The concept art seems to show Shulk and Fiora. I hope the game is more rooted in the original than it's successor.

 

Could also be an announcement for new mainline game for later this year, considering Fates has been out in Japan for a while

Breath of the Wild looks amazing.

 

Depends on how long they worked on it I guess. I also assume they did not have to build an engine this time since they co-developed the Zelda engine and so on. But yeah, 2017 seems optimistic.

 

I wonder when we'll get virtual console info. I'm expecting the worst (starting from scratch with a slow trickle of releases and no carryover for titles you own on wii/wii u) but anything more than that would go a long way to making me confirm my preorder. Portable SNES/64/(cube?!) is a killer app for me, and I'm definitely not gonna buy a new3ds at this point.

I'm so glad they're going back to the original Xenoblade's world instead of another XCX or a different unrelated title with the Xenoblade name. I feel there's a lot they can still do with that world/lore.

Me too. I doesn't look bad, it's actually more complete looking than I would think it would be at this point. Seems like a step backwards visually, but I still love the style. Very old school JRPG like. Xenoblade's OST is my all time favorite so I'm very happy to see a return to form there.
