I thought it was disappointing at first, but getting Zelda/Mario/Splatoon/Mario Kart within a year is pretty impressive. I will probably wait a a few years, though.

The more I think about it, the more I think Nintendo messed up at the $299 price point. It's some new gimmicks and barely better graphics. Yeah the hybrid idea is cool but not $50 more than the PS4/Xbox one cool.

I think it's gonna come back to bite them. I expect it to be $249 with a game by Christmas. I will jump in then. Waiting for Zelda that long is gonna suck but oh well.

 

I just want the Master Collection of Breath of the Wild.

 

Arms looks way more fun that I had initially thought. It's basically Punch Out! on steroids.

 

Pretty stoked about the new Mario Kart 8. Still hoping there's a new Mario Kart coming out relatively soon, though. Looks like the notes for the revamped version are:

• Race as every character on every track from the Wii U version, including DLC characters and tracks.
• Pop some balloons in the revamped Battle mode, complete with Balloon Battle and Bob-omb Blast.
• Battle on new courses, like Urchin Underpass and Battle Stadium, or returning ones, such as GCN Luigi's Mansion and SNES Battle Course 1.
• Inkling Girl & Inkling Boy from Splatoon, King Boo, Dry Bones, and Bowser Jr. join the roster!
• Players can choose a new Smart Steering feature which makes driving and staying on the track easy for novice players and kids even at 200cc
• Three new vehicles have been added, two are even inspired by Splatoon
• Carry two items at the same time
• Returning items include Boo, the item stealing ghost, and the Feather, which gives you a high jump in battle mode.
• Play your friends in local wireless multiplayer with up to 8 players.
• Drive through in 1080p HD quality in TV mode
• Play on the go with handheld mode and play anytime, anywhere

So pretty much... this is what the game should have been on Wii U if it wasn't pumped out so quickly.

 

I really want to hold the Joy-cons in the dock (forgot what it was called) because $70 for a pro controller is outrageous.

 

Ordered the game and special edition Zelda, mostly for the carrying case.

 

I just got the standard 300 version with gray controllers.

 

This sounds awesome. Hopefully that means my 4 year old can play and not constantly drive into walls, ha.

 

GOT MY PREORDER AT EB GAMES in store pick up (had to miss an hour of work ooops) . my body is full of emotions right now .

 

Got in on Target preorder. Had to pay 15 for release day shipping but thats worth it to me if i can have the console in hand on the 3rd. I'll try to get in on amazon preorders and if i get one I'll cancel Target's lol

 

A bit underwhelmed with the lineup. Of course Zelda at launch is awesome and epic, but I was hoping for more surprises. I wasn't blown away like I wanted to be. :(

 

Exactly! With my family, we have about six people in my generation that are all really good and about five more that just like to jump in and play. The skill gap made MK8 impossible for them to do that since you are required to know how to drift, but this new setting eliminates that problem.

 

PS, I've been swamped with work and there's about to be an ice storm... can anyone give me a quick rundown of good ways to preorder?

Splatoon 2 looks good. Can't wait.

 

Was hoping for more, honestly. Psyched on Zelda, of course. Mario looks cool. Xenoblade/SMT/FE are pretty much my "wow" moments, despite the lack of info, but all that in mind I'll probably wait a few months for this to start being sold in bundles with some games.

I think the $299 price point for the console without a game is a pretty big mistake, but what do I know?

I'll work through my current backlog/all the upcoming games I'm excited for (NieR, Horizon, Persona, etc.) and hope for a sweet holiday deal. (or, alternatively, I'll have a random existential crisis and buy one launch day because I have trouble dealing with hype, who knows)

 

Just preorder the red/blue Swich along with the limited edition BotW at gamestop.

 

I'm really excited for this. Arms looks like a TON of fun, the new Mario looks ridiculously awesome, Zelda will be fantastic, and I think that 1-2 Switch game is going to be great to play with friends. Not to mention new Bomberman!

 

Treehouse is showcasing the games pretty well actually. I'm considering grabbing a 2nd joycon just so i dont need to detach the 1st one when switching to TV mode. Also I regularly play with 2-3 other people in the house.

March 3 is going to be so expensive.

 

Got my pre-order in at Best Buy. Looks like they have in-store pickup on release day.
