Ok so I just played a little bit of this and it’s pretty cool so far. We bought a couple of ships and weapons and it’s crazy seamless it is switching things up on the fly. The visuals are nice and controlling the ships feels good. The game is just flying around and shooting though so I can see it getting repetitive. Probably wouldn’t have gotten it if it wasn’t on sale or if it were just for me though.

Got a Switch for Christmas. This system is unreal. So far I only have smash but everything about it is just crazy in a good way. So happy to dive into Nintendo again as it was my main console with 64/GC but the Wii just completely lost me.

Gotta be honest though, I'm not too impressed on he Pro Controller? Kind of would rather use the joycon/grip or a GameCube controller(obviously). What am I missing about the pro controller?

Yeah it looks like that doesn't show percentage though, unfortunately. These seem to last awhile though so I'm glad!

Noticed one has less battery than the other so hoping they just need to be charged to 100% and will sync up more closely.

I don’t know. Playing with the grip hurt my hand playing 100+ hours of BotW. When I bought the pro controller it was kind of an instant relief for me.

Since the Nintendo branded one is sold out everywhere, has anyone had success with an off-brand GameCube controller adapter?

Hmmm I'm sure I'll get there then. I obviously don't have anywhere close to those kind of hours on it yet!

Gone digital all the way on the switch. It’s portability means I don’t have to think about carting cards around with me if I want to switch (sorry) what game I’m playing

Plus less things to store on the shelves at home

I bought a Switch for my boyfriend (and me) for Christmas and we’re loving it so far. I love that there are so many affordable indie games! I’m playing Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles and it’s so relaxing and nice. We’ve already added like 20 games to our wishlist so I guess we just don’t do anything else now.

Haha I didnt realize this console has surgeon simulator, that should be a fun one.

Really enjoyed the Switch. Wish I got it earlier than 5pm last night because I could have played Odyssey all day. Back at work today :(

it’s been said before on here but wow Diablo is perfect for the Switch. I loved transition from PC to console and how it made it a more active game. now that I can play in handheld in my bed or on the couch... beautiful.

Bought this a while back and I really recommend it. It has a bunch of nice uses. Can't wait to try it in my new place.

Wow that's pretty sick, really cool invention. I don't get why they didn't put the charger on the top, it's so ridiculous that the kickstand becomes unusable when charging

I’ve never actually used the kickstand haha

How many games realistically take advantage of the motion controls of the joycons? I know they're pretty much needed in Odyssey to accomplish a lot of useful moves, but I want a second controller to play multiplayer Mario Kart without having to just use a tiny joycon. The pro controller is waaay cheaper so I'm leaning more torwards that, but idk if I'll regret it as I get more 2+ player games.

I know Odyssey gets a lot of backlash for its motion controls but honestly I played that game a lot and got like 500+ moons and never used them once. Maybe it’s required if you want to 100% it or something, but it plays more than fine with a pro controller.

I absolutely love the motion controls in Odyssey. They're very intuitive and easy to use, makes the game a lot more fun for me. Is there any way to make that move that spins Cappy around your entire body in a rainbow color without motion controls? Because that's by far the most useful move getting through the poison in the Wooded Kingdom.

Same with rolling - not sure if there's a way to do it without shaking the controllers forward and back while crouching. Will have to look through the Action Moves

You can do this with the limited motion of the pro controller by just jerking the controller to the left or right. It’s not as smooth as with joy cons but it works for the limited times you need that move.

Edit: you can definitely roll without motion at all.

It wasn't that I hated the motion controls in Odyssey. It was that I hated they were ridiculous to implement if you played the game solely in handheld mode which is how I play. Same with BOTW when they had certain shrines that required you to move the ball around and forced you to do motion controls.

Motion Controls should NOT be mandatory. It limits the experience for a variety of players. The fact that you can't even go back to the home menu if you start Let's Go Pikachu if you boot it up with the pro controller because it auto disables the controller is stupid. It's also stupid that Mario party can't be played in handheld mode or with the pro controller. Motion controls can be fun, but they will not hold up over time. I feel bad for any disabled players that can't fully experience some of their favorite franchises as well.

Haven't played those games, but still love what they did with Odyssey :P.

We really need another Warioware smooth moves for this console. It's the ultimate party game.

it’s one of the few games my brother and I can play and not want to rip each other’s head off, we had a great time playing again while we were both home. so glad you’re enjoying the Switch!
