Holy fuck the end of Chapter 3. If there was any hope of me beating this game without assist, it's gone. Don't even care. That was NUTS.

 

I hate you all I wasn't going to buy a game this month except for Night In The Woods but now I want Celeste so bad

 

Yeah I’ve got such a backlog but this looks so fun, must resist.

 

Stoked for NitW. All the indie games giving me feels at the moment. I love it

 

I'm a poser, and Celeste looks too difficult for me. It's a came I'd rather watch someone else play.

 

There's an assist mode that I've heard is great for young players or those not very experienced at these precision type platforms and doesn't feel like cheating or take away from the experience at all

 

The assist mode has various options to make it easier, which makes me want to play it for the story and the environments

 

If this helps, in terms of difficulty it is not NEARLY as dfficult as something like Super Meat Boy. Way more contemplative in mood and story, less focus on unforgiving reflex trials and more on exploration and character progression. I wouldn't group it in with those games that boast about being hard at all really, mood is entirely different. It encourages you to lose and learn from it and doesn't make you feel dumb for tweaking the mechanics to make it easier

 

Also the story is a young woman climbing a mountain to exorcise her demons and prove herself. I honestly want to finish the game because I want her retribution, unlike other "hard" games that punish you for nothing. If you're on the fence, don't let the difficulty deter you. It's fucking incredible.

But rewarding, right? When I finally got out of that part and the music mellowed out I felt so accomplished. Just wait, I've only played til the end of 3 but shit gets crazy

Gonna quit singing praises for probably an hour until I pick it up again but I just can't believe that a few talented people can come together and make something with this much heart

 

Oh Jesus, that part killed me. Especially the long room where it goes down about 4 screens. Died so many times trying to get to the next respawn point. Felt exhilarating when I did it

 

also i love checking out the #celeste on twitter and seeing peoples videos of stages i've done and the different ways they've gone about them

 

Looks like this is going to be a Celeste thread in the next few days.

It is so good though. The controls are super responsive.
