Pretty much everyone assumed the Switch SMT would be V, good to see it confirmed. I didn't love IV but Apocalypse was a step back in the right direction, excited to see what V is like (have a feeling it'll be a while though).

 

I didn't play Apocalypse (mostly because it was right around the time I was hyped for Switch). What was different?

 

Story is way, way better, characters are more interesting, the QOL/battle system/UI changes are all very nice.

 

This looks like main SMT will now have the production levels of the more recent console spinoffs

 

I saw this the other day. A workaround for what I imagine she is encountering: In Stardew Valley, sleeping can kill your save (update)

Ohh yeah this is exactly it. It’s good to know that they’re working on it, but I’ll pass this workaround along to her for the meantime

 

Where I'm from we only have 2 seasons (raining and not raining) so I will be predicting in months instead.

I feel like its going to be a November/December release for Pokemon, going to be a good way to destroy the holidays, and then Animal Crossing will release a few months before that.

I wonder what the big release for the 1st quarter will be? I'm betting Smash for Switch which is just a Smash 4 deluxe edition with all the DLCs and some new characters. Metroid is probably going to be a 2019 release.

 

Metroid Prome also ins't a big release *ducks*

 

I really don't think we'll have a big release for Q1, just the smaller titles they've already shown off (Kirby, Yoshi).

 

Prime is definitely a big release. All 3 previous ones sold very well

 

No they didn't, it's why Metroid went back into the vault. They did pretty well in the West, but not in Japan, which is something Nintendo cares about a lot.

 

Q1 might actually have the Smash 4 rerelease or something like that, that would make sense to me. But no "big" new game I'd guess.

 

Prime and Prime 3 did extremely well in the US. Japan sales weren't fantastic, but they were still okay. Prime 2 was where sales were down in both countries. I still think it's a big release for Nintendo.

 

The prime series might not have been as profitable as Mario or Halo, but it's less than extraordinary sales are not the reason we haven't had a new Metroid game until this year. That honor belongs to Other M.

 

Other M is so bad and is definitely why the series pretty much died haha

 

The longer they go without announcing a Smash 4 port, the more I think they're going to add a decent amount of content to it with a long hype period as they like to do for Smash, Q1 feels too soon. Who knows!

 

I think they'll make Smash 5, but it'll be like 2020, so Smash 4 soon would make sense. I could be so wrong though.

 

That and Retro making Donkey Kong was probably more profitable, I'm sure the Wii DK did a lot better than Metroid, not to mention development costs.

 

Scratching my head at a Mario spoiler. I feel like most Mario games are spoiler-worthy.
