everyone in here is spelling "monster hunter" wrong

jk but monster hunter has the most content of any 3ds game and the generations & 4u communities are still thriving

 

there's only one 3ds animal crossing, get that
none of the mario and luigi games are amazing on the 3ds but they're still pretty solid
the paper mario game is bad, the mario and luigi/paper mario game is fine
the OoT/MM ports/remakes are fantastic
link between worlds is excellent
super mario 3d land is amazing and one of the few times i keep 3d on
i love monster hunter but it's not everybody's thing
the fire emblem games are very fun, fairly accessible strategy games (fates: birthright is the best for newcomers, awakening is a bit less friendly but a better game)
dragon quest 8 is an incredible, classic jrpg - turn based battle system and all that
i haven't played it yet but by all accounts metroid samus returns is very very good
mario kart 7 and smash bros are both very good versions of those series, you know what to expect

They’ve pretty much said everything. I guess I’ll add in a few more.

Check out Fantasy Life. It’s a pretty light action RPG games in terms of story and difficulty. You get to pick a career (you can switch out anytime) and do stuff - ranges from a warrior to archers to being a tailor a woodcutter. It’s a great timesink. Humor relies on so bad it’s good jokes - in this case it’s a compliment and I’m pretty sure they intended it to be that way.

If you’re into puzzles grab Picross - there’s a Zelda variant that’s pretty good but I think it’s only a My Nintendo reward. If you want to go the free to play route or just want to check it out grab Pokemon Picross - free download on the eShop.

If you enjoy using your friends as characters in a game Miitopia might be a good fit. Speaking of which it has a demo on the eShop, along with a few others. You might find something there that’s up your alley.

Lots of great games on the 3DS. There’s even something for hobbyists here - art academy, swap doodle for drawing, Smile BASIC is a programming app where you can make your own games. There’s also an RPG maker. It’s a very long list.

If you can pick a general area you enjoy or genre I’m sure this thread would be able to help even more.

Also the best Mario & Luigi game of all time (Superstar Saga) is getting a remake released next week for 3DS

oh shit FF3 is actually FF6. I know we talked about it many times in this thread before but I forgot and now I remember.

Lineup is so strong. I want to sneak in Zombies Ate My Neighbors here but I’m not sure what to take out.

Yep. This game is just so delightful to play.

 

I played some Mario Kart and Street Fighter 2 with my girlfriend earlier and I suck at both.

 

SNES Mario Kart isn't actually good anymore haha

folks! can you play Pokemon Sun offline? the back of the box said something about needing a trainer account and an internet connection and for some reason my ds won't connect to the web (something I will resolve but I don't feel like fucking with firewalls and shit at the moment)

based on what the little shop I live above has, I'm going to get Paper Mario for sure (I know some of you weren't so hot on it but my girlfriend loves the series and she will be very excited when she gets home) and then probably either AC New Leaf or Sun, not sure if I want a sim with no endgame (Animal Crossing) but I know as soon as I dove in I would never shut it off

You might need to delete one of the saved wifi connections, I think it only allows 3

 

that is the case, I've went it and deleted the old connections and tried to set it up manually, my internet has been acting up so that could be it
