its never coming at this point

 

So I was living in the woods the past week and just caught up on Nintendo's e3 stuff. Holy shit, TWO new metroid games announced (one coming very soon) and a SUPERSTAR SAGA REMAKE? So pumped.

 

I missed the test fire, but grabbed ARMS today cause I had a gamestop giftcard and man I'm having a blast

 

I'm having fun but pretty horrible with the game haha

 

I am just getting destroyed on Level 4 ARMS Grand Prix.

 

Ha, same. Kind of smart on their part to make that the barrier for entry to ranked matches. It's definitely making me learn the game and not just jump and throw punches.

 

I do better when I just let loose and move a lot and throw punches as opposed to actually reading the enemy. So i'm playing the game wrong I think, if I want to get good.

Love how difficult it is though. Need to get pass that learning barrier.

 

I've been learning really well as I go along. Patience is so important, as is taking advantage of character abilities. Punishing super moves with Ninjara's dodge feels so good when you time it right.

EDIT: YESSSSS!!!!! Finally did it, and with only the tiniest sliver of health too. This game is so damn intense.

Haha. I'm doing my second GP4 run with Mummy and I'm at headlok as well.

 

I want a Switch game where you use the joycons as drumsticks!

Was running errands and saw ARMS at Target and grabbed it. Still undecided if I open it, haha. :P

 

I keep getting annihilated in the 4th fight of level 4. I feel like I'm missing something and I'm determined to figure it out.

 

So by August I'll probably have enough $$ saved up to get a Switch + a few games. That'll be around the time Sonic Mania comes out so I'll most likely get that & Splatoon 2 as my first Switch games. Metroid Samus Returns is also a guaranteed day-1 buy for me. I've always thought a Metroid 2 remake would be a cool idea but never expected it would actually happen.

 

finally beat grand prix level 4. had to retry fight 9 against Spring Boy more than the final two boss fights combined which was frustrating haha

 

I was all about ARMS then cooled off but now I want this. will probably get it digital to hop in and out of.

Haha that guy on the race track was my favorite.

 

Ok it finally clicked for me and I was able to breeze through level 4 up until Hedlok who definitely kicked my ass several times before finally taking him down. Ranked matches have been a blast so far. I'm not playing motion controls but this game definitely has my heart racing, ha.

 

Neon Yellow is my favorite color by far. It looks so good. Yellow-Blue is a pretty cool combination as well.

Finished GP4 with Twintelle today. Plan on doing the rest in the following days. Still haven't touched Ranked but I am doing decently in casual online. My 1v1 in there have been mostly wins.

Question for people who use motion, how do you curve while moving the opposite direction? For example I want left Chilla (Twintelle's basic gloves) to swing right while moving left.

 

Ranked is such a blast - lots of evenly matched opponents, a guarantee that it's just 1v1 (which, while I think the other modes are mostly all pretty fun, 1v1 is still where the game shines), and matching has been nearly instant even as I slowly rise through the ranks. Great stuff, love this game.

 

I love the basketball mode in this, I wish you could set it higher than just 10 points

 

Anyone interested, Walmart is taking preorders for the Cloud amiibo. I don't know if anyone is still having a hard time getting one but I just did and I'm so happy. This was literally the only one I've ever wanted/bought.

 

I went straight to level 4 and repeatedly got my ass beat on match 2 against the big mecha. Went back and beat level 2 instead. Soon....

 

Try going through the training stuff if you haven't yet (it's buried in the versus menu). I did that after repeatedly getting annihilated on level 4 and then was able to get through mostly without issue after.
