The second vertical jump challenge was frustrating. You don't see difficulty that early in Mario games in a long time.

Yeah people are real divided on the talking flowers. A few streamers I watched changed their dub to Japanese for some reason. I guess they just didn't like the English voice.

 

This is the way.

 

I finally unlocked that 25 Wonder Seed course for the Jet Run Badge in World 6. You have to find one of the secret Wonder Seeds in that World to be able to get to it.

 

Also you know how a game is real good? When you are still playing it in your dreams at night. I have had Wonder dreams the last couple of days.

Also doing the invisibility badge challenge while having Online turned on with tons of other players on screen is almost impossible.

 

Made it through World 3 with (I think?) 100% completion up to this point and still having a great time with Wonder! Looking forward to killing my hands on whatever the final special stage is.

 

I love going into puzzle levels I have finished before and just helping other people figure it out.

 

Mario is not the only franchise where this is the case at Nintendo. Continuity is one of the reasons why Nintendo is different. It also says something about how they are run.

 

Shigeru Miyamoto is the video game chad king

 

and their ability to cultivate and pass on that culture to new generations of Nintendo developers is really impressive. I have little worry that even after these OG developers are gone Mario games, while still expanding and bringing in new ideas will continue to have that special Nintendo magic and roots that are easily traced back to the original.

 

This level is killing me at the moment, haha. I keep getting close to the end and panic.

edit: okay, got it. Not looking forward to the one you said was even harder lol

 

I thought this game was overall pretty easy and just got realll humbled on my first Special World course. Holy shit.

 

Ive played a lot of Wonder stoned but all I keep thinking is that this is Mario gameplay in Donkey Kong Country levels.

 

I want to play Tropical Freeze now

 

Omg this second special world course is even harder. These make Jump! Jump! Jump! Look like a cakewalk. Hands down significantly harder than any other levels in the game.

There was one where I had close to 30 lives when I started, by the time I finally beat it I was down to 2.

 

I am having so much fun with Wonder

 

Im loving Wonder but I do have some criticism for it. It feels like a game that is perpetually just getting started. I often think to myself while playing it 'this is cool, I wonder how they will expand on these gimmicks and take them to their conclusion' but the answer is almost always that they wont. They get the idea out, then move on to another without really exploring it even half way. Would love to get a DLC level pack with just a bunch of the already present ideas explored further.

 

Anybody else play The Way Of the Goomba yet?

 

I think I'm ready to call Wonder my game of the year. I loved TOTK but Wonder is just pure fun, and that's kind of rare in games these days.

As mentioned above, some DLC levels would be really cool.

 

I would love some new badges in DLC

I few Wonder moments in this made me want an entire spinoff game where you play as a Goomba the entire time ala Captain Toad Treasure Tracker.
