We are absolutely seeing new hardware sooner than people think.

Also the Call Of Duty deal with Nintendo had so very little to do with actually getting the franchise on a Nintendo console and everything to do with making Sony look bad. That's it. That's the whole goal.

You got something backing this up or is this just hopium?

That's Microsoft's goal. I highly doubt Nintendo gives a shit about any of this.

Nintendo is happy just doing their own thing. Microsoft wants to come to them and give them one of the biggest games of all time? Fine by them. They don't give a shit.

Nintendo making boatloads of money off of selling consoles with tech barely above that of an Etch-A-Sketch. They doing just fine.

I am very curious what the Switch 2 even looks like, because like, is it smaller? What does that do to the screen size and controllers? Is it bigger? Does it have a clam shell design? So many options.

I just want Street pass and Miiverse back but those are dead forever.

I too got the Metroid Prime remake wrong for this year, but then who hasn't :worried:

I can't even blame that on wishful thinking

you’ve gotta assume new switch hardware will realistically be backwards compatable with original switch cartridges right? like the DS and 3DS

    One would hope.

EDIT: Although all the games I own except one are digital, so I guess I'm kind of hoping that they find a way to transfer that over too.

The PSP was definitely a life changing wow console/media player for young me

  14. If no new switch until 2024 I might have to upgrade my day 1 for an OLED

I agreed, if not 2025. Production is still way too messy and the Switch is doing way too well to the plug next year.

I think chances of this are very high, unless their next hardware has a very different gimmick, which is not impossible when looking at their history.

I disagree, Nintendo definitely enjoyed the opportunity to stick it to Sony. There is no love lost there.

There's no possible way for either of us to know that, but I'm basing my logic on the fact that Nintendo has been willing to play ball with both Microsoft and Sony, and has continually demonstrated their approach to be basically doing their own thing, and not viewing either Microsoft or Sony as "competition".

If Microsoft and Sony are roughhousing children, Nintendo is the one in the corner, minding their own business, playing with their trains.

Well, I do not know the situation now, in 2022, but I do know that historically (if anecdotally, but a lot of people in the industry have said this over the years) Nintendo has been pretty cold on Sony, for various reasons, including their shared history.

I wouldn't doubt it, but I also think Nintendo has changed a lot in the 20+ years since. I guess nothing would surprise me, but I think Nintendo holds far less grudges than they did back in the day.

we’ll know at E3 but also I feel like there hasn’t been many rumors in the past few months. We’ve long known about NX at this time before the switch’s launch.

I feel like they would only pull the plug if there was a crippling piracy problem, which happened to the DS (and the Wii, I think), but that’s clearly not a thing

The switch is literally perfect. The ultimate Nintendo machine.
