Yeah I would ask that everyone please buy the game even if you have no interest in playing it. Just buy it and then trade it in to GameStop or something. We need to let Nintendo know they should keep making these games. Please.

 

I mean we have 2(3) Metroid games pretty much locked in over the coming 2,5 years.

so it’s very much on us the fans to show up and support the franchise.

 

I’ve been playing Monster Hunter Rise today for the first time in a while. I’m experimenting with different weapon types. The game is hella fun, even just doing the free roam mode to scavenge materials.

 

I started the new Paper Mario game finally today. Instantly I really like it, the writing is genuinely pretty funny (and the premise is actually kind of creepy...) and while I still wish the battle system was like the OG games this new one seems pretty interesting. I only got like an hour and a half in though

 

“One last celebration of gaming” has me thinking it’s gonna be an icon character, maybe?

Lot of rumors saying it’s Sora but the last like thousand rumors about dlc have been wrong so who knows.

Sora would be a good last character. I still prefer Master Chief though

 

I feel like no matter who it is, there will be disappointment, so they should go for broke and do something out of control, like... I dunno, Birdo.

 

If it’s a first-party Nintendo character, regardless of who it is, I think there will be a huge backlash.

In terms of third-party characters, someone like Master Chief would likely not generate that much backlash just because of how monumental it would be.

That said, if it’s someone like Ryu Hayabusa or a character from another fighting game franchise or something on that level, I do think people will be disappointed.

Basically, since this is likely the last character Sakurai may ever have this much direct involvement in, it has to be something special.

 

I actually think there will be bigger backlash from a third party because everyone will be upset it's not the third part they wanted. If it's Master Chief everyone will be pissed it's not Sora, Doom Guy, Rayman, Crash, etc. "You picked this guy over THIS guy?! That franchise isn't even popular anymore!"

Granted, no one will be happy ultimately because that's just the way this goes. All the picks I want won't happen. Geno, Paper Mario, AiAi, The Knight from Hollow Knight.

It's going to be something like Master Chief which will suck.

 

It should be Zagreus.

 

I'd cry tears of joy for Supergiant if it ended up being Zagreus. They deserve all the success in the world.

But it will absolutely be Halo Guy.

 

Zagreus would be sick. Doubt it’s him though, these characters were all picked over two years ago, before Hades came to Switch and was a huge hit there.

It should be Sora. I'm not even a fan of that series, but I think it's a good idea, the powers make sense and it was a huge cultural impact.

We don't need anymore sword characters, but still.
