Was DK64 the game that included the expansion pak?

I want to rant a little about the expansion pak. But it felt like to me that all the games that required that thing all appeared choppier and had shittier framerates than the non-expansion pak game they were a follow up to.

Banjo Kazooie > DK64
Goldeneye > Perfect Dark
Ocarina of Time > Majora's Mask

 

I love the game very much. It is one of the most important games in my life, but looking at it now, there are a lot of baffling decisions that were made in its design.

But Im the only one allowed to say its bad. If anyone else does, I'll get mad.

For me, I don't know about baffling. I think Rare just thought people loved their formula for Banjo-Kazooie so much that they decided to go for broke and didn't know where to stop.

It's like, hey, remember Banjo-Kazooie? What if we did that again, but for five different people. It's almost like they thought they'd never get to make a game again, and wanted to ensure this was the only one people would ever play. They'd start and never finish.

 

Banjo Kazooie is better than Mario 64

I hit a major point in Arise that was intense,I need a bit of a break haha

 

I think I know which part haha. Eastward could be my game I play when I'm just in the mood to chill.

 

Haven't heard much about this, but it looks pretty cool. Seems like it might scratch that Hollow Knight itch.

 

Been looking forward to this big time, fuck me this is out too today...

Mischief Makers was one of the first N64 games I owned and I remember having no grasp on the mechanics when I first tried it as a 10 year old kid. Came back to it a few years later and had a blast once I figured out how to play haha. I think I ended up 100%ing it. Super underappreciated game.

 

Oh man, I LOVED Mischief Makers. The boss fights were such a blast in that game. Otherwise I just remember it being very strange.

 

That game had the WORST and most obscure controls for kids. I had no idea what to do or how to do it.

 

Never heard of it til now, the art is so good damn.

 

I don't really remember much with it being so long ago, but I honestly don't remember having much difficulty with it as a kid.

I mean, it's side scrolling and you shake stuff until things happen.

 

3 hours into Eastward and this is getting very good.
