It looks like that whole site is down at the moment. The link loaded for me just fine 15 minutes ago, but now I can't even get the site to load. We broke it.

Have load times been discussed? Also, once you put the game in, does it download like PS/Xbox?

I read that Zelda BOTW has a 3GB install, assuming to help with load times.

Breath of the Wild on Switch doesn’t require an install

There is no install required for Switch games, as they are completely contained in their cartridges. Expect the console to behave similarly to the 3DS in that regard. As for load times, I don't recall, but if you search among the many Breath of the Wild preview articles (or wait for the formal reviews to drop tomorrow) I'm sure they address load times.

I heard they don't install. You can just play, because of the format they chose.

The load times for Zelda are good on the Switch and bad on the WiiU (again, due to the format).

But surely there has to be patches, etc.? Also, completely forgot to order my SD card! Whoops, doing that now.

Another question, Ultra vs Extreme SD cards? Has Nintendo said Extreme loads faster?

I assume there will be patches in some form but I thought you were talking about initial installs right when you purchase the games.

I'm talking about when I get off work Friday, how long will I sit anxiously waiting to play Zelda. :-)

In my experience as a photographer, the sandisk extreme pro cards are drastically better than anything lower.

You put in the card and the game starts. There's been no word that I have seen on a Day 1 patch for Zelda (although the console itself has one).

I know for a fact my order won't ship until tomorrow because every single preorder I've ever made from Amazon has shipped the day before (I live maybe 45 minutes from a distro center) but it's still not stopping me from checking my order status and getting nervous every 30 minutes anyway.

This is true, plus the console patch downloads in the background.

    So close, yet so far.

Also, every review I had read for the Switch today has been good so far (except for IGN).

For real. A couple of reviews I'm reading are saying it "fails as a home console" when docked. What do you want it to do... become a bigger rectangle and make more noise? So long as the game displays well on the TV and retains all features, I don't get that lol.

My only concern is charging on the go, not really up to date on how USB-C works but I ordered some Anker Type-A to Type-C cables to use. I read in the Kotaku review that these type cables cannot charge while playing, but doesn't that depend on the output of the charger?

Console reviews aren't a concern of mine. If it has games I'm interested in, I buy it.
