I genuinely don't get Nintendo sometimes. Like, this is way worse than the other issues that people have with Paper Mario. They're just stiffing creativity. With this we would've never gotten things like General Shy Guy. It's just dumb.

Wow I thought Paper Mario wasn't dropping until August, nice

On the one hand, this is incredibly stupid because characters like Koops and Goombella and Bombette were part of why people adored the first two Paper Mario games, and the lack of characters like that are why so many people are upset by the last two.

But, on the other hand, this should theoretically mean that we should be getting way more creative and unique partner characters in these games, considering they are going to be one-offs not based on existing Mario archetypes and only appearing in a single game anyway. So....like....what's their excuse for not doing that?

I just realized that the new Paper Mario is turn based because you're turning a ring around like a puzzle in combat

Feels weird that there’s now no upcoming Nintendo games with a confirmed release date

Thanks Nintendo. We now don’t know any upcoming big games for the rest of the year and we’re half way through July. Talk about waiting until the very last minute.

It's almost as if there's a pandemic that's probably affected release dates

Hasn’t stopped Sony and Microsoft from having digital events already. Nintendo is just taking their time...because

How many of those games have release dates?

    Oh, right. Almost none.

That’s the point, though. How many games in a typical Nintendo direct has had a release date other than Fall (place year here)? Not many.

Directs inform people what games are coming, not the exact date. Unless every game in the upcoming direct has a solid date of release then the “release date” theory doesn’t hold up.

I actually really like Nintendo’s method of announcing games a few months before they’re out. Teases for years give me less hype
