i have 300+ hours (maybe more) on it on 3DS.

it’s great. it’s the last game that had the old MH gameplay so if you want to get into the series before World this is a good entry point. the first hours can be slow though, just because of the turorials/unlocking features.

 

Hyped. Def gonna pick it up. Adore MHW, but been meaning to check out the other entries. Thanks

 

i just saw cobras post that it was already sold out, googled "ring fit bestbuy", and bought it as normal. no refreshing or anything. got very lucky. used paypal one touch to make things a lil faster

Slay The Spire was my most played game of 2019 (most of those hours were on PC) and I can’t recommend it enough.

On that note, I’m suuuuuper obsessed with Monster Train right now. It’s a prime contender to hit Switch in a year or so haha.

 

a friend who didn’t like Slay the Spire pinged me and told me Monster Train is better than StS and i didn’t bother replying.

idk if that’s true but i do not accept Slay the Spire slander.

 

I don’t accept StS slander either but........monster train is kinda more addicting to me so far haha.

 

noo. i did check it out, from the gameplay i’m pretty sure I’ll still prefer StS but funny that this comment with the Magic the Gathering reference is what resonated the most



if we’re being specific I’m actually a Spike (one who plays competitively) but I’m more a Timmy than a Johnny.

I got a message like that too from a friend.

My friend said "STS isn't as deep as it seems on the surface after you play it for 6-8 hours" and "more often than not you're playing the exact same deck the exact same way".

I legitimately laughed when he said that dumb stuff.

 

haha it’s the same for me. he finished 1 playthrough and decided he was done and then went on a rant about how the game is just RNG.

and i was like no, finishing it once means you completed the tutorial lol and maybe understand the game better. i wouldve been fine if he finished a few ascension runs and then decided that, but it was just so uninformed smh

good thing i also have another friend who enjoys the game just as much. so we send our janky builds to each other when we’re able to do them

Been playing it with the gf. If you like cute little puzzlers and have someone to play it with I'd recommend it. I can't speak to the single player experience.

I want to try Slay the Spire and I watched a video on it but I’m still undecided. Is the deck building hard to figure out or does it help you learn it?

 

The game is easy to learn, but it doesn’t hold your hand and just drop you in difficult scenarios right away. So there’s different phases of fun/breakthrough imo.

1. You die a lot in the first few runs as you learn the cards, the relics and the enemies
2. After that first win, you unlock new characters and Ascension which is just a more difficult version of the game (up to Ascension 20)
3. The first few Ascension levels are fine but at a certain point I think you hit a second wall, but overcoming that one is very rewarding.

the game is pretty fair though. and since you enjoy competitive Pokemon too i think you’d like it?

 

As a small child I basically bounced back and forth between Super Mario 64 and the first 3 Spyro games. I’m playing the remastered Spyro trilogy right now and while I’m having a good time, I’m reminded why Super Mario 64 stuck around for me and I never really went back to Spyro when I got older lol
