So excited

 

I just discovered the debut album from musician Zsela which dropped this past Friday and it reminds me a lot of Nilufer Yanya.

Decided to check out her other stuff after hearing she had a new one coming out on Ninja Tune. Am impressed, like a more pop focused King Krule. I like.

This was kind of in one ear out the other on first listen

 

I like the first half more than the second half but this is very good

 

“Method Actor” and “Mutations” are both killer. Great album

second time through liked it even more. I sometimes had this thought where I wished the whole record sounded like the parts of eg Like I Say without the fuzzy guitars just because that sound sonically I think hits me better personally but the songwriting wins me over in the end. Not that I don't like the fuzzy guitars just...I could listen to 3 albums that sounded like the first 40 seconds of Like I Say.

 

Forgot this was coming out, this is really good. Feel it could use maybe one more uptempo track but I’m gonna give this a few more listens.

 

Opening 4-5 songs is an amazing run and smokes the last two records but then it kinda settles in and loses me a bit. Very good album but I gotta see if the second half ever clicks for me.
