Every couple of months I think about amazing rappers that completely wasted their potential. I never really think of Nicki in that context because she’s had such a successful career, but she’s actually a prime example, because she’s probably one of the most talented rappers of the last 20 years and she’s never put out a record was more than mediocre or that felt particularly authentic.

I wish she’d just put her contrarian energy into making the kind of music she probably wants to make, rather than making the kind of music she thinks will keep her relevant, or shitposting.
