He just finished with 1147 yards playing for Mitch Trubisky. The dude is good enough. He just doesn't play for a team that plays in garbage time week in and week out like the Jags did in 2015. Like, of course a receiver's stats are going to regress when their team plays better football lol

 

His 2016 stats before the ACL tear were really disappointing too. 881 yards and 6 touchdowns.

I also don’t blame us for not extending a guy fresh off that injury when we had just almost gone to the Super Bowl without him. Would’ve been nice to have him that year but after that he wouldn’t have moved the needle at all for us. We had to get a whole new quarterback, and given all these veterans we were cutting, he would’ve been a cap casualty later on instead.

Allen Robinson disappointed in 2016 because Blake Bortles was disappointing. 2015 was beyond unsustainable for both Bortles and Robinson. It's that simple.

 

Bortles is bad.

 

The Jags literally let Robinson walk and brought back Bortles. Like, for fuck's sake, for real?

This is a correct post. Though Robinson did also show he’s not a “beat double teams” WR. Teams just took him away and then Bortles didn’t know what to do. It wasn’t like he was getting open and Bortles was just missing him. I still think that season proved he wasn’t gonna be an elite WR1 like he looked like the previous year. The Bears probably gave him much less money on the open market than he demanded from the Jags for his previous services lol.

He had no leverage cause 2016 was bad and he tore his ACL after that. Bet on himself and ended up taking what the Jags probably offered him.

 

Though he still got out of Jax and moved to his dream city as a child so fuck it that’s still way better even if he took LESS money lol

 

Sure, but how many wide receivers actually consistently beat double teams, ya know? Like, sure, Allen Robinson isn't an elite WR1, but I will gladly take seasons like 98/1147/7 every season. I think Robinson is good enough to keep that up. His greatest dilemma is the poor quarterback play he's always had: Christian Hackenberg, Blake Bortles, Mitch Trubisky. It sucks

 

There is no way to justify this one.
