Did you need a .edu email address though?

 

The email address doesn’t matter but they do try to verify you through some school database to make sure you’re an active student (can’t remember which one) and if they can’t verify you that way they require some other kind of proof like a course schedule, valid student ID, etc

What I always do is since I still have access to my schools online system is I’ll register for a class, take a screenshot of my schedule, send it to Sunday Ticket to verify me, then drop the class lol

 

my fiance starts grad school in 2 weeks, does that count since she will now have an .edu email?

 

Speaking of signing up for things using school emails and such, I have AMAZON Prime STUDENT. Have had it for years and am actually currently in classes so I’m being truthful right now lol and to get it? I clicked a “I'm a student” box ten years ago and never looked back.

but to get AMAZON music for .99 cents a month as a student? Fuck, I’ve had to send in countless screen shots showing I’m enrolled and the college name and my student ID and blah blah blah and they still “can’t confirm it”.

even though I have had an AMAZON prime STUDENT account for a decade. It’s the same fucking company! Figure it out!

You might actually be better off switching to a different account type. I had the free student account at PNC for a while, and then a few years ago (maybe four years after I graduated) I went to cash a check and the teller told me I should come back in and meet with a manager "at your convenience". I had no idea why she told me that but set up the meeting and found out that since I was now making money and regularly depositing into the account, I qualified for a free upgrade to an account tier with better interest rates and perks that the student one didn't have. Not sure how Wells Fargo handles it but it's worth looking into

I'm reading that Jerry Jones is looking to have people in the stadium for the first game of the season. Texas has a 50% cap, but no one is really going to enforce it. Like, what even is 50% when your standing room cap is 100K+ anyways? Gonna be a fucking mess.

 

The capacity thing is a load of crap too because if you fill it at 50% everyone's still gonna bunch up at the front for the closest seats...except Randall lol

As someone who watches the Chargers I can tell you our brand sucks.

 

This. The free student ones were ok because they generally were safer against overdraft and made transferring money into them easy...but thats also all gotten easier since the iPhone didnt exist when I opened that account.

If you have enough in savings, there are places that'll give you 1+% in interest, which adds up fast. And I think even my checking went from like .05% apr to .2% or .3%

 

I'm really bad with my savings in terms of keeping up on it or doing what's best for me. Someone tried explaining churning to me and I thought I was in an Enron meeting.

 

Yeah, I turned my wedding (which we did fairly cheap and our parents largely paid for) into a Southwest Companion Pass and like 150,000 in Southwest Points, so we traveled for free to like a dozen places in 2019 when that was a thing people did.

Though actually, the best move Ive made over the years is Amazon price watches. For stuff I want, but dont need right away, they just randomly have major price drops every month or two

I had a friend open a credit card, deposit a bunch of money, then it like gave him money then he just took some of that money and moved it elsewhere and then THEY just gave him money.

That concept is fucking odd.

 

For the practical effect of what this looks like, Im thinking what it looks like at an Ikea right now. The place has a restaurant with a 450 person capacity...not to mention the store room is probably rated for 10k people or something nuts. So, go in and it looks mostly like normal.

And its not that hard to distance, still...but thats Ikea, not football. Other owners should be pissed because all its gonna take is one outbreak of Cowboys fans for the NFL to get shut down
