I don’t really think Deion is chastising players for opting out. He seems to be just giving honest advice that, as a business, the league forgets about you quickly... suggesting players who opt out should plan accordingly, and have backup plans for a post-football career. I don’t think it’s a bad thing, for a former player to warn you that the NFL doesn’t care about your safety / health and won’t keep your spot warm for you. It is the ugly truth.
