Why would Mike McDorkniel make an important decision in the interest of Tua as a person instead of as a football player?

    The rivalry is back on

Fire the “independent doctor”, fire McDaniel, fuck everyone involved, this is awful

This is the same organization run by one of the slimiest owners who was found guilty of tanking and tampering so I guess I shouldn’t be surprised if he had a hand in making Tua play

I'm not taking anything out on anyone.

I dont like speculating when you literally have no idea. And youre insinuating that McDaniel knew for a fact that Tua should not play and played him anyways?

yeah sorrry, I Am not here for that nonsense

Yeah, I mean I get Brandon backing his team, but they shouldn't have played Tua, regardless if it wasnt 'prognosed' a concussion

The optics are horrible and hopefully they didn't just shorten his career or worse... truly terrible.

  10. 2 concussions in 5 days can kill a person - just glad he’s alive

I will say, as to not assume what happened, that if I were a coach, I personally would not entertain playing a player who is having trouble walking no matter if I’m being told it’s a concussion or a back injury. But that’s just me

I even said that they shouldnt have sent him back in the game on Sunday.

you and I both know that no matter who the team is and no matter who the player is, if that player is cleared, they are going to play.

Absolutely, concussion testing is not infallible and like you said symptoms can be delayed.

That is definitely true. Also true that if you're prepared to disregard health of your players, you should be prepared to eat the consequences

They really need to change the "can be consulted" to a "must be consulted" immediately, ridiculous it wasn't mandatory in the first place.

Coaches can still make the decision to keep players out of games for their own sake. This is not new

Staley was widely scrutinized, justifiably so, for playing Herbert for the entirety of a blowout loss

McDaniel is going to be eaten alive for this

What's gross is there's that NFL commercial I keep seeing where they're bragging about concussions being down or some shit.

I agree on your last part, we do but it shouldn't be that way, we know that of course

I don't think anyone would have questioned McDaniel putting his foot down and saying, "no, he's not playing" though

Hoping the best for Tua, shit sucks

Yep. Truthfully, they need to treat it like they now treat the replay system. Someone in the stadium like they have, watching for it. Anything flagged goes to an independent doctor in a separate indoor exam space (not on the sideline...all possible concussions get evaluated off the field). Independent doctor exam is watched by medical team in the NFL office and only if cleared by the doctor and medical team do they return. There's more resources and transparency in a goal line call than a players life altering injury.

Probably also worth mandating a week off too...
