Pain

 

1. He seemed to have issues with 5 man blitzes and getting the ball out quicker
2. Texans have talented dudes on the DL so they were flying around making life hell
3. It's fair to call out the Bears OC not giving him more favorable outcomes during heavy blitz although I havent watched the All-22 so I dunno how much blame goes his way or not honestly.. even with a weaker OL teams can scheme around it to an extent imo and adjust accordingly. I hate when all the blame is thrown either way (QB or OL).

 

I'm probably in the minority but I prefer this to almost every QB putting up 275+, 3 TD every week

Predictably bad signing

 

kind of agree but it’s not so much the lower output, it’s the fact that so many of these QBs look like absolute shit against the cover 2 when they can’t bombs away to their WRs haha. My somewhat hot take is it’s a combo of 2 things: the lack of preseason action and rust and they’ll get better as the season goes on, and also..the QBs aren’t as accurate anymore. Lot of teams have been prioritizing more mobile QBs who can drop dimes deep but aren’t as good at the intermediate routes with accuracy and finding the gaps and throwing into tight coverage that you usually need to do to best cover 2. So instead you’re getting all these flat routes and 2-4 yard underneath routes that are gimmie throws underneath the coverage and leading to all these QBs having a like 4.3 YPA lol

To be perfectly clear I don’t have much proof of this, just a theory
