I will say, I totally understand this and I learned the hard way this past season after I blew, like, $100 on the Broncos during the draft because of all the Rodgers news and drama circling around that night and the report that the Broncos were interested in him

My dad doesn’t place a lot of bets, but he is a slot machine fanatic and I have spent many hours at a hotel pool (or kid care when I was younger) while he and my mom played slots

Sports betting at least allows me to take advantage of whatever knowledge I have to make an educated wager as opposed to just better money on something that is largely up to chance.

That may sound naive of me because maybe there is a science to things like slots or whatever, but you won't catch me dropping $25 on, like, scratch off cards at a convenience store when I could drop $25 on Tom Brady to do what Tom Brady does

NordVPN is prolly the best one, they have tons of servers and they're located all over the world. The biggest thing you want to look out for is how many servers do they have and where they are located. I most of them should be priced pretty similarly and offer some kind of free trial.

The more servers they offer, the faster your speed will be because it's more likely that there's less of a bottleneck on one particular server (which is beneficial because you're going to lose a little bit of your speed no matter what when using a VPN) and with more locations that means you can get access to country specific things (for example if there's a particular app that's only offered in one country you can connect to a server there and download it) and you can avoid blackouts (for example Broncos games are blacked out for me on Sunday Ticket since i'm in Colorado but if I connect to a server in another state/country I could watch their games)

This would save me a lot of headache with the mlb.tv app for sure

So apart from using it to spoof your location, what other things would you be doing on the internet on your average day that you’d feel the need to turn your vpn on for?

It really depends on how private you want to be when using the internet. If you have a secure (requires password) network at home, I wouldn't say there's a ton of benefit to using one in my opinion other than to spoof your location. They really come in handy in unsecured (public) networks since your data will be encrypted so you can't be spied on. This is true of using one on a secured network as well, but again, it depends on how private you want to be, you're less likely to be spied on in your own secured network.

Cool, thanks for all the info! I just relayed all this to my wife (an unprompted info dump that she didn’t ask me for) and she is happy to understand it a bit more too. We may finally pay for one.

You’re welcome! There’s all different kinds of ways you can set one up. You can do it at the device level (just on your phone/laptop/etc) which is pretty easy to do and much easier to hop from one server to another a lot quicker, or you can also do it on your router so every device is already using it but this is more advanced and requires specific routers that can handle VPN configuration (there’s a lot out there for sure, but I would say most setups people get for home use don’t support the newer VPN protocols at the router level)

It sounds like we would probably approach it at the more basic level first since it seems like there’s be less of a learning curve and investment

My wife actually started getting into NFTs because of some friends at work who are well versed in it. She just sold one the other day for $700 that she paid $60 for about 2 months ago.

Dogecoin and Disney-centric NFTs have provided enough gambling to hold us over

Both teams won yesterday without either winning QB throwing or running for a touchdown. And both threw an interception. Crazy.

Rams offensive is more creative imo. Bucs offense relies on protection. But ok Rams by 7.
