I do agree PIttsburgh residents are more accustomed to the cold than Jacksonville residents.

I don't agree that it makes even nearly the same impact on football players, whose whole career is about adjusting to discomfort, changes, and adversity.

The whole time my argument has been "We agree to disagree about the effect of the cold alone without precipitation or winds above 15 mph". So actually I'm not pulling that card late, that was every card in my deck? hahah

"never played in 19 degrees" is such an insane stretch and you know it lol. That's probably very very few players in the NFL period. They've travelled for college games even if they haven't somehow played in that temperature yet in the league.

And again, sure many of our key players are from the south but many are also not.

You have a group of NFL players who live in Pittsburgh and a group that lives in Jacksonville. One lives in the cold and plays consistently in the cold. One does not and has played below 50 degrees four times in five years, going 1-4 in that span. It is not at all ridiculous to say the players who live in Pittsburgh are more accustomed to the cold than those in Jacksonville.

 

I hope the Steelers win 69-1.

you guys are still maybe only 25% as tired of hearing this argument about normal weather changes as I am. Haha. I'm only so adamant because I'm sick of that always being an excuse not to win an away game.

When you're a Florida sports fan you hear it every fucking cold game every fucking year.... and it's not like they talk the same way about like, dome teams or way up north teams playing in the heat. North teams come beat us in 95 degree 95% humidity weather all the time and that's not even a story. Even though that's actually a pretty big adjustment as well.

I've seen the Jags win or almost win cold games in person when I lived in DC/Baltimore (saw them play the Eagles as well), those games weren't 19 degrees but they were like 25-32. I've seen the Jags beat the Steelers and Packers in the snow and single-digits the last time they were a good team. I just refuse to accept that as a reason or excuse not to play at 100% unless it really is extreme.
