I wasn’t feeling the two released songs at all but wow - Bloom and Mouth To Mouth are excellent

Most of these new songs don’t do a whole lot for me. They’re fine, but nothing really grabs me or feels very memorable. I’ll give it a few more listens, but so far I can’t see myself coming back to any of these very often.

Really wish the old songs were proper studio versions

Why does the streaming version get more acoustic songs than the physical release?

Yeah this is how I feel but I love the old classics in Acoustic regardless if it's live/studio

Yeah, live or not the clsssics are the best part of this record lol

They are bonus songs just for digital formats.

I liked it I guess. It sounds great but I feel like the content of the songs won’t want to make me come back to them too often.

I agree the best part of the album are the old live versions. Wish they would just release those live stream concerts as mp3s and put them up for sale.

Guess im in the minority. Really enjoying the new songs and just appreciate that they made this kind of record right now.

This is fine. It’s by the books and rather boring, which is better than the cringe fest on the last album. I guess I just had higher expectations for this. I wish the old songs were recorded and not live as they are the best part of this by a mile. This makes me not so stoked for the acoustic tour lol

I wonder why 4 of the Live tracks are listed as "Bonus" (1, 5, 6, 7) and 3 are not (2, 3, 4) on Spotify.

Probably related to the vinyl pressing. I bet the bonus tracks aren’t on vinyl

This is exactly right. Bonus tracks are just on digital platforms.

NFG gets way too much hate on here. I think it's great.

Really doesn’t seem like anyone here is hating on anything. Most of us seem to think it’s fine, nothing spectacular or memorable. I’d hardly call that hate

  16. pbueddi

    Trusted

maybe meant hate in general, not necessarily this album in particular.

I mean aside from Resurrection and the most recent one, both of which I would think most longtime NFG fans would rank near the bottom of their discography, I feel like the reception is typically pretty positive around here. Maybe I’m wrong

oh for sure. And i think people used to not view radiosurgery well, but it seems like that has changed over time!

Yeah the perception around radiosurgery has definitely changed over time, which has been nice to see!

The fans that attend their shows on a consistent basis are still listening to each new album and claiming it's their best.

    Things have changed.

Radiosurgery is an enjoyable album for sure. I liked it a lot more than NWAF, which felt very much like a drastic overcorrection after Coming Home flopped. Bands like ADTR and FYS were rising and that record felt like it was NFG trying to prove they were still the kings of that thing but largely missing.

I definitely agree that it feels like they made a conscious effort to lean into the easycore/pop punk with hardcore influence thing on NWAF, but most of works for me. I like that record a lot
