For me, "Vicious Love" just has so little energy in the instrumentals, it's so plodding and lifeless.

 

I actually think Stories is decent musically, but those lyrics are so embarrassing. Vicious Love is all around awful.

 

Yeah it can go either way with Vicious Love and Stories. Shows the problem with Resurrection though, for me Selfless, Stubborn and Angel are among their best songs and then it has probably their two worst songs ever haha.

 

I don't care for any of those songs, really. Ready and Willing and Persistent are pretty good songs, and the title track isn't bad. The production really hampers even the good songs though.

 

Damn I really like Vicious Love

 

The music video for Ready and Willing really killed that song for me. Song was alright. Still though I have no idea the last time I listened to the album haha

 

Yeah it wasn't a good video haha. And i'll definitely never listen to the album front to back again

 

Stubborn is an underrated track. Especially after hearing the story about it being about Ian's ex-wife.

 

It definitely is. That song is so good. I think Stubborn and Selfless are two of their best songs since Coming Home.

 

Stubborn is the only redeemable track from that record for sure

Back on topic - I seem to enjoy this album more and more with every listen.

Basically, I really like it. I find numerous songs popping into my head throughout the day. Mission accomplished.

I spent the last week trying to find the rest of the album and have been writing For The Slender the whole time. I'm an idiot.

 

Stubborn is awesome, I love that song so much. Selfless, Resurrection, Ready And Willing, Angel, and Living Hell are all good-to-great songs, though. It's just the lows on Resurrection are so much lower than anything else, is why it's easily my least favorite of their albums.

 

That sums up my feelings as well. Love all the songs you mentioned, but the rest I could live without. I don't think there are any NFG songs I really can't stand, but the other half of that album pulls it way down.

 

Back on topic.

This record is amazing, very diferent. the mix and production is perfect.

The Sound Of Two Voices is on my top 10 nfg songs of all time.

Even if you dont like this record. some songs will stuck in your head for a week.

I can't wait to finally hear this on Friday. These last couples days have been killing me. I haven't heard it through a leak.

 

"Back on topic" then an album ranking? Come on! haha just kidding.

Glad to see all the love for "The Sound of Two Voices". So many things about that song are unlike anything else NFG has. I think it's probably one of the more creative ones they've had in a while. Also, the lyrics are still simple, but for some reason I think they work much better in that song. Just an overall good effort on that one.

so far I would say Makes Me Sick is somewhere in the middle of the second group. I haven't spent a lot of time with it yet.

 

It sounds awesome listening to this album on vinyl

 

This record is pretty great, and I'm surprised how many songs have synth. Loving it so far.
