Same. Got it for “Party Down.” Don’t recommend “Outlander.” Watched that with the girlfriend and I think that show leans more on sexual assault than “Game of Thrones” to move the plot forward, which is a feat. It’s wild it’s so popular with moms. But it feels very much like an R-rated CBS show.

Agreed. I think it's one of those shows though that if you like it, you LOVE it. I went to Scotland last year, and a whole day was an outlander tour, and when in Edinburgh we went off the beaten path to find filming locations. I had no interest but my wife's best friend was ALL about it. She has a Jamie Fraser life sized cut out in her home office... so yea, she's obsessed haha (which is fine, I have my media interests like that).

The show had its moments, but I lost interest in it pretty quickly but I'm not the target audience so I chalk it up to, it's probably objectively good but not for me? But yea... a lot of what you described. It's odd it's written by a female author as normally women are the ones who push hardest against that as a plot device and don't buy the 'well it was a real threat and part of the times so it has to be included!!'. She goes hard using it as a motivating tool/theme/plot device, however you want to put it.

I mean if you really look at relationships in Shonda Rhimes shows they’re pretty bad. Tons of power dynamic issues that get written off entirely.

Received an email today celebrating Hulu’s 15th anniversary.

What the fuck. Hulu has been around for 15 years? Since 2008???? No way. No way that can be true, I refuse to accept that.

Back in my day Hulu was free and it would play all the network shows that aired the day before.
