  1. Season 7 is a slog but there’s like 4 or 5 really decent episodes. I always like the couple of episodes where they get into the big fight and then meet up again in the future. Eric as Plays With Squirrels!

Lose one friend, lose all friends, lose yourself.

That line does mean a lot to me. I remember watching that episode during a run through amidst the height of an extremely depressive state when I was in college and very, very alone. That line made me sob. They actually played off of that line in Girl Meets World. Eric is running for Senate and is waiting to meet with an environmentalist corporation as well as an “evil” oil corporation who wants to have him in their pocket and the representative they send to meet with him turns out to be Jack. They reveal that after Jack went to the Peace Corps with Rachel, she stayed and he left. He then disconnected with everyone and lost himself. After he meets with Eric he decides to turn his life around again. One of the moments in that series I actually really liked.

The best Boy Meets World is senior year and maybe the first college season. Been awhile since I have seen them. But I adored those seasons.

Six episodes into Fleischman is in Trouble and loving it. Is this a one-time limited series or are there plans for more seasons?

I’ve been re-watching it alongside the Pod Meets World podcast, which has been fascinating. I’m excited to see how Will responds to them ruining his character as soon as he gets to college.

  7. And the amount of times they say “tushy” in the last couple seasons is pretty incredible haha.

Late to the BMW conversation and it’s been awhile since I watched the series and noted where the seasons cut off I just remember friends and I being amused at the tonal shift in Eric’s character at times (his super serious episode when they’re cleaning out the garage) and Cory becoming a lunatic for no apparent reason (“Underpants!!!!!”) in later seasons.

Also the drastic change in Topanga’s character that they kind of 4th wall break / talk about. Same with Morgan being “in a really long time out” after she just disappears for an entire season or whatnot - although that type of stuff seemed to happen with every show up until idk the 2010’s so it wasn’t just BMW.

I will have to start this but already cringing at the episode they will have to cover with the Savage character that is the college counselor that flirts / touches Topanga. Didn’t Fred just recently get arrested for something like that in real life or am I confusing people? Thought someone posted about this in the accountability thread a few months back.

Sorry for the triple post, and this isn’t directed at anyone this is just something I realized / thought of the other day.

I started rewatching Dawson’s Creek. Loved the show growing up, a lot of memories with friends and girlfriends connected to it. I’m 4-5 episodes in to season 1 and holy god it is cringy as shit as times and characters or dialogue I used to really connect with is horrible looking back on it. But I realized - that’s a good thing! It shows personal growth! Had I just turned this on and had no issues with it and reacted the same at 34 as I did at 16-18 years old THAT would be a problem.

I guess we do that with everything so this is isn’t a new realization, I guess I just noticed it more with DC for things that aren’t inherently wrong looking back on them but with how I perceived them and saw a characters action. Example - a lot of jokes in Friends and other shows haven’t aged well but that’s easy to see vs watching now and seeing how horrible of a person Ross is vs just thinking he was the quirky nerd guy everyone saw themselves as it watching in high school or when it first aired. If someone watched Friends now and didn’t have an issue with Ross’s character or see the problems, that would be a bigger problem but seeing them shows growth.

Ok sorry done rambling happy New Year’s Eve.

The Pod has been great so far. It’s Topanga Eric and Shawn and they haven’t been afraid to be pretty critical of things along the way so it’s not just like “everything was awesome and no one ever accused any of us specifically of being racist”

As for Fred Savage, idk if the allegations are similar. I did a quick google and it seems like the real life ones were more anger and lashing out based whereas the show is more sexual in nature. All still awful, and I’m curious to see how they handle it.

Im also super curious to see how they tackle the shift in Eric’s character. Will Friedel seems already annoyed at how dumb Eric is and after all the work he put in legitimizing Eric in seasons 3 and 4, they really nuke him entirely.

Athena on Netflix is quite good. But fuck Netflix for defaulting to the dubbed version. Make sure you change it.

I feel like this happens to a lot of sitcoms tbh. Friends last season or three comes to mind, as does the last season of Fresh Prince
