“Spirited” is fun for like 90 minutes then kind of falls off of a cliff for the next 30. No idea why it needed to be 2+ hours.

I started watching Dark on Netflix, mainly because I have heard here and read other places that it's one of the best Netflix shows ever and one of the best shows anywhere in recent years. I've watched two episodes and honestly I'm not feeling it at all. Not even a little. I'm definitely gonna watch a few more episodes at least, but I'm hoping it starts to click for me.

 

Dark is unbelievably good, absolutely next level shit

 

Ya gotta hang in there for sure. There’s some some disagreements here and there about whether or not it starts off as a slow burn, but the opinion is valid I think. Once it REALLY gets rolling, oh you’ll know. It gets absolutely insane and addictive pretty quickly.

people seemed to enjoy it but it just felt derivate of better movies. i also had a bad theater experience because the lady next to me legit laughed at every line Sam Rockwell and Saoirse Ronan said.

 

I thought it was fine but don't go in expecting Knives Out. Diet Knives Out is a decent way to describe it tonally but it's not nearly as clever

 

I think that was part of my issue as well is that it thought it was super clever but wasn’t at all.

 

if it’s derivative of anything (kind of a lame convo to begin with), it’s the books of one of the characters in the movie itself. which knives out is also ripping off. nothing is unique.
