    They meant Fiscal Year. /s

And out of that list the only one I have yet to watch is We Own This City… which I guess is what I’ll be watching today.

I share a lot of the same "best new shows of 2022" (The Bear, Severance, We Own This City, ect) as everyone else but i'll just add in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds in there too.

In terms of tentpole franchise science fiction/superhero/fantasy shared universe type shows it's better than anything Disney+ is doing with Marvel or Star Wars right now all with a significantly lower budget. Paramount pretty much gave in and just gave Trek fans everything they've been asking for since they first announced they'll be bringing it back to TV. They just delivered the best season of a Star Trek show in probably 20+ years.

Just finished Severance and wow. Great unique show that balanced being accesible and arsty in a great way. So many mysteries and questions to answer that i just hope can be answered and that it doesnt devolve into a lot of the 'mystery is better left unsolved'. Without spoilers, Adam Scott was superb in the last episode and nailed the confusion and panic so well. Emmy nod incoming?

“The Bear” sounded so corny from the ads I heard on podcasts. But the reaction from everyone has me thinking I should watch it.

  9. Only three episodes into the bear and I really like that it gets in and out and doesn't dick around. Just very concise and everything seems relevant.

The Bear was announced as streaming on Disney+ in Canada on the day it was released, even Matty Matheson himself said so, and it’s still nowhere to be found. Super frustrating

yeah I’m glad they didn’t stretch it to an hour. It works perfect as a half hour show.

It’s an ad! They’re selling me the show! Ads are why I’ve skipped other shows (unless they have great word of mouth).

  15. +1 to all of this

  16. Finished Big Hero 6: the Series then watched Baymax!, both of which are absolutely delightful. The first two seasons of BH6 have three very strong narrative arcs (the second season consists of two shorter arcs), then the third season is more comedy focused but still highly enjoyable. Baymax! is a lot like Dug Days, short and sweet. It features some lgbt characters, which is always a plus.

I've been watching a lot of Disney Channel animation lately, apparently. Before BH6, I started with Tangled: the Series and was surprised at how good it was, especially in its third season. Then there are the two shows that aren't sequels to films, Amphibia and Owl House. They're like Disney's response to Adventure Time and Steven Universe: they have emotional storytelling and fantastic world building, and also they're very queer.

There's also She-Ra and Arcane on Netflix, and Infinity Train, Young Justice, and Harley Quinn on HBO Max, and Invincible and The Boys spinoff on Prime. (and I always thought The Legend of Korra got much more hate than it deserved compared to Avatar: the Last Airbender)

tl;dr you should watch more animation

Where’s the source on that? I kinda doubt a new season of Severance and Mythic Quest are ready to drop this month without hearing anything else about it

Binging a heavy show like Station Eleven in 3 days was probably not the best idea, but the show was great.
