I really enjoyed it. It really kept me on the edge of my seat for the final 2-3 episodes as the resolution and ending comes together, a really well put together mystery with a lot of good twists.

I watched the first episode of Evil Genius last night and immediately got sucked in. Planning on finishing up the other 3 episodes tonight.

Evil Genius was very well done. Crazy story all around. Interesting to see how much that story influence 30 Minutes or Less.

I liked Evil Genius but I thought there was a drop-off after the first episode.

I feel like when that movie came out and there was controversy about insensitivity the filmmakers or someone denied knowing about the case and im like ok with those similarities literally how

According to the film's Wikipedia page, the filmmakers and had no prior knowledge of the incident, but the screenwriters were 'vaguely familiar.'

I never saw the movie though.

I remember seeing the news on the original story (since Cleveland is not far from Erie), but with the movie being much later, I did not put it together how much the move was influenced by that event. I can see how some would be offended since they made it a comedy, but I don't know where I stand with it. I am guessing there are a lot of folks in other parts of the country that never heard of the case at all until the docu-series.

Yeah, Erie is extremely close and my sister lived in Erie the day this happened. She attended Mercyhurst during this time and she didn't even know about it. I had no clue about it either until this documentary.

The local news by us covered it and I remember seeing it on the 6:00 news. I am guessing the Plain Dealer had an article as well.

Come to think of it, I was a freshman at BGSU in 2003, so I would have been living in Bowling Green...which is a good 3 1/2 hours from Erie. Regardless, I was surprised to find out my sister had absolutely no knowledge of this when I asked her about it a few weeks ago, considering she was living right around the corner.

Due to lack of social media at the time, it was sort of similar to that incident with the FB live killer that got gunned down in Erie. Like, the coverage of him being stopped in Erie, not so much the lead up that made national news.

I mean I hadn't heard of it either tbh but the movie was so similar I'm like what kind of extreme coincidence would that be tho I guess there is that similarity with the Dark Water movie/Elisa Lam case tho the movie had come out first so that was a legit coincidence

I guess I tend to revert back to Law and Order (lol), South Park, or The Simpsons that often take influences directly from real life incidents. A large amount of the content we consume is being pulled or influenced by real world events so where should we draw the line when it comes to movies and shows. The people that were offended by 30 Minutes or Less, would they have felt differently if Law and Order depicted that case? Who knows. I am just sort of thinking out loud since Law and Order has quicker turn around than say, the 8 or so years between the Erie event and the movie taking place. Sorry this sort of reads like a stream of conscience haha. Also, there was that James Franco and Seth Rogan movie that made light of the North Korea situation. Another case where I can understand why people would be offended, but not sure where I totally stand personally on it.

Tbh I haven't even seen the aziz movie so I couldn't say. If those close to the situation get offended about it it's legit to me and that's kinda what I go by. Like are there close relatives who are still living and would be hurt and like retraumatized by the death or tragic events of a loved one and feel like the piece of media is making light of the situation? If that's a concern I think it's in poor taste to do it but yeah haven't seen the movie so idk

Yeah I didn’t follow the press when the movie was being made or when it released. I never heard anything about people being offended. Just going on what was said in here. I agree with your general stance though.

Started watching Cheers so I understand the Frasier crossover episodes I always skip. It's pleasant so far but nothing has super stood out yet either. I liked it immediately but im waiting for a standout great show moment idk

After finishing Fraiser last year I decided to watch all of Cheers. I honestly didn't think it got laugh out loud funny until season 4 when Woody Harrelson joined the cast.

Cheers is great. Lots of great stuff in the early seasons, probably hits its peak in seasons 3 and 4 when Diane and Frazier were both on the show. Also, Coach > Woody

Watched this the other week as well. I see a theme in Harlan Coben's series huh? I enjoyed it just didn't find the story very compelling by the end
